As per request of OP, locking and archiving

I'd rather give them something to survive for longer until they're hauled back, like some strong painkiller for example, than a weapon to fight the xenofauna with; I am not sure they have a place to carry it around anyways, given they also have to bring the PKA and whatever mining equipments with them, and it also gives Medbay something to do when the xenofauna takes a bite out of the miner, what do you guys think?

I took some time to ponder on the suggestion, and after reflection, I didn't find any reason why this change would be good I acknowledge you indicated "powercreeping and balance concerns" in the PR, but it was never elaborated what those would be, despite the request to do so, and the rules of this specific subsection indicating that "The reasoning behind a suggestion should be elaborated upon in the initial post to a reasonable extent", so I am not sure what this change is aiming to address exactly, can you please elaborate on what those concerns are, and why the proposed way to address them is removing the FR hardsuits entirely?

ICly-wise, it could make sense that a checkpoint is present, to avoid people from smuggling things down to residential (guns, equipments, Phoron, narcotics, whatever) OOCly-wise, it is a terrible idea, noone should be able to stop people from either leaving or joining the round ICly, and I highly doubt there's a consistent demand/wish for someone to sit in a box waiting for people to join or leave the round, and that said people want to spend time being searched before going to do whatever they joined to do, so I am not in support of this
