[2 Dismissals] Remove or heavily revise cyborgification as a punishment
Zundy replied to Kaed's topic in Rejected Policy
Tau Ceti isn't "liberal" in the socalist-equal rights-workers unite sense. It's liberal in the anarcho-capitalist sense. Playing someone from Tau Ceti who views cyborgification as monstrous or abhorrent means you're playing a character who is going against the grain of the general Tau Ceti populace which is fine, but just remember that about the character. People in Tau Ceti are majority ok with this, that's part of their general faction traits. I'd concur with Synnono in making it need unanimous command authority if it is such a big issue in game, but is it really? Do we always have instances of antags getting borged at the drop of a hat? -
Tau Ceti Heat Wave Hits Biesel A solar irradiance event from Tau Ceti is set to temporarily increase temperatures across Biesel upwards of 10°C over the next two weeks from today. A freak solar irradiance event has triggered an increase in temperature across Biesel with Mendell City, Scottsdan and Ashton seeing temperatures as high as 37°C. Other regions are expected to see at least a minimal increase of 2-4°C. Thought a dramatic increase, NanoTrasen science teams have confirmed that the event itself should only last for the next few weeks and that there should be no long lasting issues. Science teams have also been deployed to study the phenomenon. In light of the increased levels of solar energy the NCV Ikon, based in orbit around Mendell City, has deployed all of its solar panel systems to take advantage of the event.

[2 Dismissal] Internal Security Miranda Rights [Binned: 05/05/2018]
Zundy replied to Scheveningen's topic in Rejected Policy
I don't really care for it as you don't have to read rights in Biesel to : avoid lore bloat, because sec aren't the police and having a detailed SOP for sec is great for the hardcore players but hell on newbies and causals. However there's nothing stopping you from advising someone of their rights within Biesel I guess. Is this something sec mains want to see? -
NT Security Staffing Crisis Confirmed Friday, April 27, 2460 Staffing crisis hits NanoTrasen after large numbers of security staff are suspended following this week's internal crack down. Following the revelation of a nefarious conspiracy by large numbers of NanoTrasen Internal Security Officers and a handful of NanoTrasen Head of Security personnel against the company and Biesel within Tau Ceti space, numerous security officers have been suspended from duty across the sector. The reduced numbers of security personnel have created a staff shortage across all Tau Ceti NanoTrasen assets with emergency staff being called in to temporarily fill the void. In a press release Andrew Reynolds, NanoTrasen's Chief Relations Director, told the news that "the operation to remove seditious elements from across the Tau Ceti sector has been an absolute success. We have brought in back up officers from outside the sector to temporarily fill in for the minor dip in staffing levels and have processed a good number of NanoTrasen Heads of Security who are now back in the line of duty. The senior management team is currently in negotiations with key third party security contractors to fill in for the reduced staffing levels in the region over the next few weeks and we have undertaken a boosted recruitment campaign to replenish our security department. NanoTrasen is committed to its contractual obligations and we assure all our customers that this staffing challenge will in no way affect our clients." Insider reports from the Biesel police force indicate that the conspiracy itself was focused on "undermining Biesel sovereignty and accumulating a vast number of credits fraudulently". The names of those officers taken off duty has not yet been released. More on this story as it develops.

http://i.imgur.com/HRUoJbz.png NT Corruption Scandal As Security Found Compromised Wednesday, April 25, 2460 Whistle blowers alongside key CCIA members of NanoTrasen have revealed a deep conspiracy amongst Tau Ceti NanoTrasen security staff with potential links to anti-corporate groups. Whistle blowers and NanoTrasen internal affairs have revealed a nefarious conspiracy against NanoTrasen and Biesel in the Tau Ceti sector with a large number of NanoTrasen Internal Security Officers and a handful of NanoTrasen Head of Security personnel being involved in a sudden internal crack down by police and security teams with "confirmed links to the group known exhibit terroristic behaviour" press was told by internal sources. In the early hours of this morning NanoTrasen Emergency Response Teams and security forces raided numerous locations across the NTCC Odin and other NanoTrasen properties across Biesel with the assistance of the Biesel Police Force. The names of those arrested have not yet been released but inside sources confirm that the majority were NanoTrasen Internal Security. In a statement to the press Andrew Reynolds, NanoTrasen's Chief Relations Director, told reporters that "[we] have been undertaking an internal security audit of NanoTrasen assets in Tau Ceti for the last few months and have successfully identified and contained a potential threat to Biesel itself. We are always committed to the defence and freedom of all Biesel citizens and are absolutely delighted that we have served and will continue to serve the public in all avenues. I would personally like to thank the Biesel Police Force for its assistance in this venture." Mr Reynolds made no comment on the alleged anti-corporate affiliation of the incarcerated security officers. With such a large number of security officers being detained observers wonder how NanoTrasen will be able to maintain its security commitments in the sector. Stay tuned for more on this story as it develops.

Mars Boycott Declared Legal 4.21.2460 After a heated debated in the senate the Alliance Supreme Court has declared the Mars boycott of the Tajaran Visa and Travel Ban to be legal. The Sol Alliance Supreme Court has declared the Mars Boycott of the Tajaran Migration and Visa Ban to be "without question, a legal act of their powers within Alliance law" on the basis of the dissolution of the Treaty of Olympus in November last year. The treaty, initially signed on the 5th of April 2284 after the Martian World War, laid out the specific terms of union between Mars and the Sol Alliance at the end of the conflict , "in layman's terms" the court representatives advised the senate "this means that the terms of the union between Mars and the Alliance defaults to pre-interstellar war conditions as no new treaty has been signed. This leaves Mars with greater autonomy." Complex legal battles have been ongoing since the dissolution of the Treaty of Olympus but no formal union declarations have been signed since. Critics of SolGov are calling this "a catastrophic lapse" and a "clear lack of competency" at the government level. An attempt by Senator Watkins of the ATLAS party to deflect the failure onto the GAIA party was swiftly shouted down by the senate with Senator Thorne leading the admonishment. "It was your coalition government that lead to this, do not I say, do not attempt to weasel your way out of this one". Further complications where brought to the floor by Senator Asfour of the outer colony system Iishraq. "Does this not mean that Mars is legally in the same state as it was before the end of the Martian World War, I mean to say does this mean it is technically a member of the former Coalition of Colonies and therefore the Frontier Alliance?" "Potentially" the court representatives advised the floor. An emergency session has been called by the Prime Minister of the Sol Alliance, Miles Theodore Chater, over the standard weekend to resolve the issue. Representatives from Xanu Prime, the hub' of the Frontier Alliance systems, have told the Alliance News Network that they "are watching proceedings closely" but have not commented further. More on this story as it develops.

[Declined] NT Corporate Structure Change
Zundy replied to Azande's topic in Lore Canonization Applications Archive
Seems like unnecessary bloat. It's not just CCIA and Duty Officers that keep a sector running smoothly be the command staff as well. I like the idea of the potential player interaction and roleplay to be had under "Operations Committees". That's certainly something to look into. -
[2 Dismissal] Remove Loyalty implants [Binned: 29/04/2018]
Zundy replied to JMJ_99's topic in Rejected Policy
I already explained why mechanically it exists. Why remove it when you can already do what you want to do anyway? It changes nothing at all. -
Hello fellow aurorans, Please watch, like and subscribe to my sons new video. His mother and I are going through a rough patch at the moment so I think some healthy support would be good for him. Thank you for listening.

[1 Dismissal] Remove progression from All antag types

What's the pros and cons? -
Don't make them defibs and let's use this opportunity to get rid of the wound that is closing. Make is a machine (Tsao Machine invented by Dr Tsao Heng). It requires an intact corpse to be fitted with a cranial implant and a chest implant. You use the machine on the prepared corpse and it brings them back to live in critical with extreme damage regardless of how damaged the corpse was previously. After the now revived patient is treated for their damage, they under go a month long recovery lore wise in which the patient experiences chronic aches and pains due to the rival process (mechanically not reflected in game imo as that seems too harsh but hey if folks want it in go for it) after which the implants are removed. Treatment is expensive as hell but NT gives you it as work perk. This way cloning can be done away with, there's no "time limits" to when some one can be revived but at the same time it takes longer to be brought back. Thoughts on this?

100% yes. Cult could do with something similar to this as well to be honest.

2460.04.17 Liberation Force to be Deployed to Colony Sun Reach In the eyes of Goddess and Tribunal, Emperor Bolesław Keeser, Ruler of Dominia etc etc and all of the five great houses have authorised a liberation force lead by Fleet Admiral Maxim Zhao to attend to the frontier colony "Sun Reach" after missionaries of Tribunal were murdered by the savage frontiersmen. Sun Reach is a small mining colony that has been offered the Empire’s protection -- as with Novi Jadran decades ago -- but their heathen leaders refuse to see the wisdom of joining our glorious Empire. Holy Tribune Kasam Kaelesi of Ignotum Balteum took to the ExtraNet to explain the colonial’s actions explaining that "most of the poor souls of Sun Reach are good, Goddess fearing people who would want nothing better than to join our glorious Empire under the Goddess’ sight but alas, their corrupt and decadent rulers have rebuked our efforts. As such, a liberation force will be sent to Sun Reach to cast those wretched dictators low and to free our brothers and sisters. Praise our Goddess." It has not been confirmed whether His Majesty's Special Operations Group will be deployed but Grand Duchess-Electress Dorothea-Frieda Strelitztold the network that nothing could be ruled out, stating that "we must ensure that those poor souls are freed from their weighty shackles as swiftly as possible and as such, with the blessing of the Emperor and the Tribunal, our forces will do whatever is necessary for our imprisoned brothers and sisters." More on this story as it develops. Praise our Goddess, and long live our Empire.

Crack Down In Imperial Plaza As Crime Rate Spikes Tuesday, April 17, 2460 Mendell City authorities crack down on growing criminal gangs in the Imperial Plaza district. A new police enforcement unit is to be introduced in the Mendell City Imperial Plaza district also referred to as "Little Adhomai". Following the Sol Alliance visa ban on Tajara citizens many families have been forced to relocate elsewhere with many heading to Mars, Eridani Federation space or Tau Ceti. The district has seen an influx of over five thousand individuals leading to a marked decrease in living standards within the areas. Speaking to the press, Biesel Police Force representatives explained that the new unit will be more than just a law enforcement agency but a community outreach program as well which will work with the community and with NanoTrasen to provide jobs to the current citizens of the area and to the migrants who have arrived or are arriving. The unit will be a majority Tajara force to assist in community relations.

Mars Boycott To Be Debated In Upper Senate 4.17.2460 A debate in the upper senate is to be held regarding the legality of the Martian boycott of the Tajaran Migration and Visa Ban. Prime Minister Chater announced earlier this morning that Sol Gov will be meeting within the week to discuss the legality of the Martian boycott of the Tajaran Migration and Visa Ban which came into effect on March 9th this year. Mars representative Senator Thorne and Senator Michael Watkins are expected to be the key speakers throughout the debate. Critics of the GAIA-ATLAS coalition have panned the governments slow response on the issue with officials drawing attention to the month long delay calling it "pathetic" and showing a "critical weakness in the coalitions ability to react to key issues." Addressing the press, Prime Minister Chater called for "unity in this trying time." The Prime Minister went on to say that "this issue, though more complicated than first thought will be resolved as soon as humanly possible. This dialogue will be key to a amicable resolution for all parties." Senator Thorne called the debate "a good first step" going on to say that "Mars is committed to the Alliance but we except commitment from Sol Gov in return. We are an equal member of this nation and so should have an equal say. Mars was not consulted on this ban and neither where the middle or outer colonies, I can guarantee that. We are a democracy and as such Sol Gov should act like it. Not act like a shadowy cabal working behind the scenes. I promise you that I will bring democracy back not just to Mars, but back to the Alliance for all." Senator Michael Watkins was unavailable for comment.

[2 Dismissal] Remove Loyalty implants [Binned: 29/04/2018]
Zundy replied to JMJ_99's topic in Rejected Policy
Except you can roleplay that out. Nothing is stopping you. In the end though, the implant obligates you to follow it unless you feel you have a compelling enough RP reason to pull this: "Though unlikely, it is possible that a loyalty implant be overridden by stress or strong emotions. If patient's loyalty implant is overridden (or when it is simply faulty), it is advised to remove the faulty implant through surgical means and replace it with a functioning one. " Then by all means ahelp and ask if you can USE YOUR WILLPOWER to overcome the implant. The sole purpose of it is to ensure that there are command staff on the loyalist side at round start. -

Ok, so what would removing the implant bring to the table? What could you do in round if they didn't exist or Captain and HoS spawned without them? -
[Accepted] i310 - Impersonation of Organic Species
Zundy replied to MO_oNyMan's topic in Accepted/Implemented Policy
Positronic brains are sentient in relation to species IPC's and not station bounds (unless cake wants to correct me) so you can't just "scrap" them. Another thing to consider is that tags can't be removed without critically compromising the chassis I.E the IPC won't function if the tag is removed once tagged so a repeat offense is largely impossible. However, by all means keep it as is but remove "scrapping at the majority command decision ". -
