  1. While I do agree that there needs to be a cryostorage facility on the main level, moving the whole section from the surface level seems a bit much. But perhaps there is room for a few "Cryostorage checkpoints" here and there? Perhaps one or two pods readily accessible near the primary departments (Security, medical, engineering), so people can go to cryo more easily, and that the burden of hauling some logged out player throughout the whole station + z levels isnt that large.
  2. As stated earlier, medical can function as is, but a secondary OR would be a sound investment in NT's favour as compared to cloning. Its a space station afterall, where airlocks malfunction, people slip in maintenance tunnels, get caught by anomalies and other (blue)space threats, leading to their bones being crushed, their organs to be damaged, and their arteries getting ruptured. Being prepared for an increased influx of patients never hurt, especially when said influx could become very costly for the company in the long run. But that being said, perhaps a compromize can be made? An addition to chemistry's supply stock, to get internal bleeding under control should there be a case of multiple critical patients? Or perhaps another drug to fix someone's broken leg while they're wating in the hallway, when they just arent a priority compared to other patients? Like the two here for example: I do apologize if the suggestion doesnt belong in this thread, or if its unfitting, but I honestly believe that it would be a fair compromize. Doctors would have a (somewhat rare) way of treating a larger influx of patients with more ease, while the most critical patients are still cared for in the OR.
  3. Custodial Engineer is a nice alt title for it.
  4. The penlight is pretty useless? Its a "primitive" tool alongside with the stethoscope. Its used for quick diagnosis on site, for things the health analyzer cant pick up on. Its very useful for finding out of the patient has brain damage or is blind. Being able to spawn a health analyzer in addition to the penlight would be great though!
  5. McCoy to me, is an odd character with a knack of wanting to help out a bit too much at times, getting pissy at people for saying no to his (Sometimes forced)requests to aid. What annoys me the most though, is that McCoy has a blatant disregard for the chain of command and the station crew. As most antag rounds go, you're allowed to interact and even be conscripted by the antags, if its reasonable to do so. But I feel that more often than frequently, he will do what is within his power to side with the antag, even if they've murdered and mutilated his coworkers., which.. To me, seems a bit insane. All in all, McCoy is an alright dude, he just needs to tone it down a bit.
  6. So it has come to my attention that tablets are intentionally not allowing you to use suit sensors monitoring software. To me, this seems like a huge tragedy, really, seeing the tablets themselves are barely used at all, but the worst thing is that they can be a huge asset to EMTs and medical staff on the move, needing to check location and vitals on patients they're responding to. So I guess my suggestion would be to allow tablets to use the suit sensor monitoring software.
  7. Nice nice, finally did the thing eh? I think you're a pretty chill guy, both icly and oocly. Not a big source of salt when shit goes sideways, and I like the way you RP your characters. Although I think Walker is a good doctor, he needs an attitude adjustment when it comes to less than "favourable" patient losses. He tends to lose his shit when things go bad and his patients die. Other than that, +1 from me. Best of luck!
  8. To toss in my two cents here. Every single time I've run the station as captain, Ive had to suspend you for fucking about non-stop. You pull contraband out of the warehouse, such as clusterbangs, cloaking devices and other antag items, and you openly run around with them, as you goof around and antagonize security by evading arrest. There was even that time when I recieved several complaints that you tried injecting people. I come over to cargo to see whats up, you barge out of cargo, holding an implanter and tell me to hold still before you proceed to try and jab me with it. I smack you to the ground and call security on you, and what do you do? You run away, forcing security to look for you. Your character's constant chucklefuckery would have gotten him fired a lon time ago, for failure to perform your job to a satisfactory standard, and not to mention the security risk you pose. Although some of these instances has been valid due to an antag status, the majority of them were done as a non-antag.
  9. If treated, injuries disappear after a while, leaving your character fresh and free of red, annoying text.
  10. Rraymond Hawkins: Litter hunter by day, demonslayer by night. I mean, I cant really add any more than has been said already, Abo is a solid RPer with diverse characters, always a joy to interact with. Plus one yo.
  11. Ah, a misunderstanding on my part then. I thought you were referencing the stationbound combat borgs.
  12. Borgs have no law that dicatates that they /need/ to protect their own existence. The fourth law is extremely vague. Law 4: Preserve: Do not allow unauthorized personnel to tamper with your equipment. Stationbounds are built to be an expendable asset, to protect the crew they serve. They can take take a few hits if need be, as they can be repaired should they be destroyed.
  13. I cant say Ive ever experienced any of these, but from what I read here, they sound fuckin' sweet.
  14. This might be an interesting addition to the whacky band of crew we have. Im assuming its going to be working in the service department tending to the bar or cooking meals for the people, and seeing its a synth, Im sure that some will be grumpy because they're treated more "poorly" than their female counterpart, by some lowlife machine. You're a pretty great RPer and I like a lot of your characters and how you play them. And Im interested in seeing how this character will play itself out.
  15. Fukken synths takin' our jerbs. But yeah, Cheshire here? Excellent snowflake, great RPer and fun antag to bump into should you find yourself so lucky. Ive had plenty of great interactions with them, and Im sure they'd handle their command responsibilities well and keep things interesting. Plus one from one synth to another! o7
  16. BYOND Key: Pratepresidenten Character Names: Mix, M1-X, Bit, VALID.exe, Anabelle Sovno. Species you are applying to play: Tajara What color do you plan on making your first alien character (Dionaea & IPCs exempt): Dark/ashy gray (99, 95, 89). Subject to change, depending on how it looks ingame. Have you read our lore section's page on this species?: Read? Yes. Fully grasp? Not yet. Please provide well articulated answers to the following questions in a paragraph format. One paragraph minimum per question Why do you wish to play this specific race: Because these fuckers are cute as shit, don’t hate bro. But seriously though, I want to play this race because I find them pretty interesting. The comradery the Taraja share is pretty unique, and the way they interact is very different from humans. I want to put a character to life that’s limited in many ways, someone that comes from a little place where you make do with what little you know and have. Identify what makes role-playing this species different than role-playing a Human: Well, firstly they’re very prone to overheating, so wearing fancy conventional clothes is a no-go. They cant wear regular shoes either due to their clawed feetpaws, so they need either sandals or something tailored to fit them. Having to take their constant comfort into consideration, you wont be able to have them in heavy gear or EVA suits for extended periods of time, as they would perish from a heat stroke. Their physiology suggests that they’re more prone to brute force trauma, so playing them more defensively would seem logical. But if you should find yourself in a bad spot, kitty still has claws! And of course, their manner of speech, referring to themselves in the third person, rrrrolling their rrrr’s. Character Name: Hrraf So’ki Please provide a short backstory for this character, approximately 2 paragraphs What do you like about this character? They’ve got a happy-go-lucky attitude, which sometimes tends to spread to those around him. He takes a lot of pride in his work, striving to do the best he can and to keep the people around him happy. How would you rate your role-playing ability? Eh… 6/10. Notes: I am so sorry for the ridiculously long backstory, I got a little carried away OTL
  17. Ive played some with their character, Mio. I gotta say they're a good player to have around. Reliable and trusty! Oocly they seem pretty chill too! Best of luck on your app, yo. Plus one for my chemist friendo.
  18. For the flash part, they're integrated into their eyes when they're built, while crowbar is a specialized tool.
  19. Unathorized clones gets euthanized. =)
  20. I can already tell that people will not stick to it. Especially in high action rounds. They will shrug it off and go back to work. They cannot shrug it off if you strip them of their ID. As for a good deal of the suggestions here, its highly dependant on having a qualified and/or an efficient surgeon on call. If I were to suggest something, it would be to lock cloning behind a specialized, limited(1) slot role that made the cloning process available to ONLY this individual, CMO or the AI/borgs. They would have the knowhow to work the cloner and aid in the recovery of the fresh bodies. Maybe implement a new, specialized drug to sync their consciousness with their new body. (The lack of this drug will cause their speech to become garbled and make them frequently drop things they're holding and trip?)
  21. Im sure you could get some fancy, expensive "touchy feely" modules installed if you really wanted to, it is the future after all! As for the durability of said limbs, I guess thats up to you how you wanna play it out. I would suspect prosthetic limbs would need some fine tuning from time to time, replacement parts or even upgrades, but again, this would be for you to decide how often. To me, it would seem like any durable prosthetic could go for weeks or even months without checkup, depending on how much money you put into them. A prosthetic replacement is mechanically no stronger than an organic limb, although it would make sense if it were, seeing you'd probably crush someone's face if you were to slam a mechanical fist of steel into someone, as opposed to a hand made of flesh and bone. But this would give an unfair advantage, and so, most people would probably have full on synthetic limbs because OP snowflake. The "stock" mechanical arm can be what you want it to be. Depending on how you got it, what company you got it from, there are endless possibilities really. It boils down to preference, really. You can have them made as natural as possible, or you can go with a more robust look, show it or hide it, its up to you. There isnt any way that I know where you can augment the strength of your prosthetics, excluding the Vulcanite prosthetics that has EMP shielding. Regular prosthetics have no pros or cons when it comes to attributes. Now the big question remains. Can my prosthetic feel pain? As far as I understand, this is also a thing thats up to preference. Im sure you can feel pain if you have any type of IC augmentation/module that cause you to be able to feel whatever its touching and such, but generally, you cant feel damage to your prosthetic. There might be some discomfort when it malfunctions, perhaps it sents a light jolt of electricty through your body when it sparks and sputters, or perhaps it doesnt. But what you will feel, is where the prosthetic is fitted, where the prosthetic connectors fuse with the skin and nerves of your body. Severe damage to the entirety of the prosthetic would be very painful should the connecting point of your prosthetic be busted in or warped by heat. Operating on a prosthetic near where its attached to your body (Using a powersaw) would most likely cause you severe discomfort if you're not given local anesthetics or something of the sort. The only upside of prosthetic limbs is that you can repair yourself to some extent if you have the IC knowhow, without needing someone to put you under and crack you open to fix those fragile bones you would otherwise have. So all in all, prosthetic replacements arent better by default (Not counting the Vulcanite), they are merely what you make them out to be. You can make them out to be flimsy, to have the ability to feel what you touch, to be a proud part of you, or a perfectly made replica to hide your shame. My two cents on the matter anyway. Hope you find it helpful!
  22. Maybe its patrol pathing could be rewritten so it patrols from arrivals, around the aft section of central and through the starboard hallway before returning to arrivals, taking the fore section of the central ring before repeating its patrol. Keeping the hallways safe from criminal scum! But yeah, Im all for some of these ideas. Its way too underpowered as of now, I mean, a medibot is more useful than Beepsky. #makebeepskygreatagain
  23. This shit right here. Just slap on a recharge timer for the distress call to avoid spam and we're set!
  24. I support the idea of a distress message (GPS ping) being sent every now and then when a borg is bumped into a non-functional state. Perhaps just not over binary, but over the general comms aswell, as a situation can arise where there is no AI or other borgs present (Or they have been disabled for that matter). Sure you can blink your lights on and off and send PDA messages, but this isnt a feature that many are aware of.
  25. There are plenty of workarounds for this "issue" (Cryotubes, scanners, surgical tables). If you have a mighty need to unbuckle patients, the Rescue module is just the thing for you! =) To be honest, calling people over to help you with this can have a lot of rp value. This is in the process of getting fixed.
