Bear event is trash. I'd rather have a severe spider infestation event. Y'know, with nursing spiders? Point 1: You have a much higher survival chance Point B: Gives everyone involved more to do than just "Bring the dead to medical for cloning" If a non-sec gets caught with a bear and dont have a locker super readily available, they're fucking dead because the bears do so much damage, and they cant be outrun, or they just teleport infront of you.

I do support the idea of a better infection system. Its pretty useless as is unless you take 100 some burn damage or you leave deep gashes to heal for themselves. Infections at a Acute/Septic stage are a huge hassle to deal with (As they should be), but the amount of time it takes for it to get to that point is way too long, if you compare it to say.. Decaying limbs and organs. Iirc, having septic limbs and/or organs will cause you to rapidly ramp up toxin damage, which will kill you sooner than later, and it needs constant supervision to prevent death if all saveable. Again, supportive of this suggestion and would love to see infections getting a tweak.

2 dismissals [1 Dismissal] Enhancing Medical Efficiency
Pratepresidenten replied to Kaed's topic in Archive
Although this suggestion is fine and well, there is no feasible way to effectivize medical without having stable, competent medical staff that doesnt just OD patients on Dylovene while they suffocate, or simply just SSD in the middle of whatever. You can put in as many fancy things you like, but without a stable core, it is all for naught. -
This was supposed to be done months ago by a person that was supposed to do a thing, but is no longer here to do said thing. However, Ill poke someone to fix it.

This fucking guy.. Cadet. Man, what can I say, you're an absolute delight to play with. Even though Ive had minimal time to spend with your mednerd, I can say based on my experiences with you in security, you definately deserve this. Not to mention the feedback on your medsquid, I have high hopes for you and your ability to pull off the rank of command. Solid player, both oocly and icly. All my blessings!

This falls under the same thing as jetpacks. You can have them on+stabilizer while waltzing around inside, they wont deplete as long as you dont move over openturf. Its just how shit is I guess?

[1 Dismissal] Delet cloning for non Protohumans
Pratepresidenten replied to Pacmandevil's topic in Archive
As this all sounds nice and fun, putting more effort into medical procedures is gonna do more harm than good. As it stands right now, medical casuals couldnt pull a man from the brink of death even if their own life depended on it, and you want to add more complex mechanics to a place where people barely understand whats up and down? Bodies would effectively pile up or get tossed in the morgue because usually when medical turns into a "Revolving door" cloning facility, the people playing there are usually too swamped to deal with anything else, especially an extra clone, double surgery and wakeup calls for the newly created Frankenstein's monster. If you ask me, people should put more effort into their characters and their survival. Put on a DNC, act more in accordance to your environment or hostile situations. Appreciate your spessman life more and fight for said life instead of just "lol lets rush teh gunman becuz we have cloning". -
Booo! Cargo techs and science nerds can wait for the glorious miners to push the materials through after literally risking their lives to get them. Let the poor sods have this one little thing in their hard working, miserable lives. Or yknow, bug the AI/borgs for access. Unsupportive of this suggestion! >
-
This is an interesting concept I would like to see trialed as it would promote actual RP by having to seek out the various departments/have the AI relay messages if you need something from someone.
-
The old holodeck had a holopad right outside of it, but this one doesnt even have one nearby. Would be nice to be able to call an AI to the holodeck (Or be there as one).

You have accomplished nothing, I already think my art sucks. Pick a better insult next time.

Anabelle Sovno's theme? OwO

Ive been interested in having this implemented aswell, although the abuse of this mechanic is going to happen. Maybe put it behind some two month time lock or some shit? I unno. \o\ Or yknow, make it a feature that isnt announced in the changelog.

[1 Dismissal] Loyalty implant notice and others.
Pratepresidenten replied to Pratepresidenten's topic in Archive
I can understand the concern for a "free" convert or takeover, but loyalty implants arent perfect. They're still a little chip with circuitry and programming prone to the dangers of EMP. Perhaps shielding would give it some extra durability, making them able to take two EMP hits before they break? -
[1 Dismissal] Loyalty implant notice and others.
Pratepresidenten replied to Pratepresidenten's topic in Archive
The most straight forward way would be as you said, the implant not showing up on sechuds. As for reactivation, they could possibly just break down over time as they're bioimplants (Much like the death alarm and tracking implant iirc), or a surgical step of applying a debugger to brain surgery (Or whichever part its injected into). Not sure how difficult this would be to implement, but its a suggestion I suppose. -
[1 Dismissal] Loyalty implant notice and others.
Pratepresidenten replied to Pratepresidenten's topic in Archive
at the point in time you are not obligated to follow orders or laws, obviously if you are a Captain you are usually not going to change your course of action as a result, but if, say, someone gives you their very own homemade loyalty implant you can use the moment of clarity to act against them The implant would in short, Cease to work, making you able to violate regulation and/or corporate interests. It basically broadens the scope of what you are capable of doing in a situation where shit has hit the fan. Although it would be an extremely situational thing that would rarely ever come into play, it would be okay to have around. -
Not sure if there this has been suggested in some other thread, as I couldnt find it. Anyway! Suggestion is that someone with a loyalty implant should know that they have one. Perhaps an automated message printing every 10-15 minutes or so, stating something like: "You feel an unquestionable loyalty to NanoTrasen" written in blue text or something similar. Perhaps an alternate message would be printed upon getting implanted with a loyalty implant. I would also like to ask if loyalty implants are affected at all by EMP (Breaks them), as death alarm implants are, for example. And if this is not the case, if this could be implemented aswell.

Well, they might be mute, and you may not have been able to know sign language, but that doesnt really matter, just shorts out RP on his end. As you had him cuffed and in your absolute control in an isolated place, you could have taken your sweet time and made sure you let the mute sod know they were going to die in a horrible fashion. The need to roleplay doesnt have to be a whole evil villain monologue, but just.. Explain to the fuck that he is being ended so you may live.

So, its been a long time coming for this suggestion on my part, but Ive simply forgotten to put it up. So my suggestion would be as following: Allow Captain and Head of Security to be able to become changelings (and vampires). I honestly dont think its too far fetched as stated by some, that changelings can bypass the loyalty implant due to their morphing nature, hence ignoring it. As for vampires.. Being a loyalty implated vampire (Cap/HoS) would prove a bit more challenging. You cant directly violate regulations and corporate interests, but then again, you can have other people do your bidding. Draining blood from people isnt directly harmful, and the targets cannot recall what happened. There might be a conflict regarding to contingency protocols, but whoever can chime in on that I suppose. In any case, this suggestion is primarily for allowing the two to become changelings.

[Resolved] Player complaint: Arrashi M'rta

[Resolved] Player complaint: Arrashi M'rta
Pratepresidenten replied to Swim420's topic in Complaints Boards Archive
Right uh. It would probably have saved you a lot of typing if you had ahelped this beforehand, as Arrashi is a shaft miner. He was promoted icly through shady means by a traitor, and has no clue on corporate regs. I can understand why you would make a complaint if this was an actual head, as this would be extremely poor play, especially from an HoS. -
[Denied] HunterRS Head of Staff App
Pratepresidenten replied to HunterRS's topic in Whitelist Applications Archives
Seems to be a pretty good lad to have in science. Friendly, does his job well and actually bugs departments to see if they want upgraded tools n' shit. Not a lot of negative to mention, perhaps just that they tend to bunker down a bit hard with barricades and weapons without checking in with the active RD (Should there be one) when shit hits the fan. In any case, not something that should drag down anything on the app, just a note. Plus one positivity note for your application my man o/ -
I think a huge issue with hostage situations is that someone can just chuck a flashbang into the room because "loldisruption gg" and the situation is defused as the hostage taker is gunned down, while the hostage has little to no injuries. The immediate threat of instant execution would indeed allow for more realistic hostage RP. I do like the suggestion of having a timer needed for executions to be instant, but I would like it to be atleast 10-15 seconds long. A hostage situation should be a long timed event, not just something hastily done. I would ALSO like to suggest headgibbing regardless of weaponry, making the hostage uncloneable, as the mindset of ISD is basically, take down the hostage taker, because we can just clone the hostage, while the perp gets to be slapped on a morgue tray. This would allow for a rushed hostage situation to have ACTUAL CONSEQUENCES. Just my two cents anyway.
