Add Malf'd IPCs to AntagHUD (And a way to de-law them)
Carver replied to DronzTheWolf's topic in Archive
Every conversion should be 'fixable', else there's zero counter-play. -
Sounds good. Not much else to say, I 100% agree with this idea.
-
Being embraced is generally far more interesting than being thralled. The former opens up a lot of potential RP for the 'converted' whilst the latter just heavily constricts it.
-
The fog one in particular sounds very interesting but I'm unsure how exactly maintaining such a form would work mechanically, especially without large potential for bugs. Some unusual, extended variant of the wizard's shift?
-
I'd be down for embrace being immediately available. Not every sucking of blood turning someone into a vampire, but if sucking someone dry always did, then sure. At the very least, as said, make embrace available from the get-go.
-
They need to be removed, but that's a whole other discussion that's been had plenty before.
-
I'd say 'power shock' if it wasn't for how easily that 1-shots someone. Maybe a flat 15-20 burn on a hand?

[1 dismissal] Remove 2/3rds vote requirement and just make it 50/50.

An argument against this is you often have the lot who just want to end an extended asap so they can get to murderboning in an antag round. 2/3s works both ways, in that regard. -
An interesting idea if PDAs ever get an overhaul in the future. Could also be applied to the chat relay programs on computers/laptops.
-
Funnily I'd be down for this idea if it only applied to real corpses, and didn't apply to lings whatsoever. Lings don't need buffs, but making it so you don't need to go between being a ghost and in your corpse when you're proper deceased would be handy.

Sounds good. Would be nice to be able to finally be able to order fish-related dishes without people going 'oh no the 2 carpotoxin in that meal is going to kill you please stop'.
-
What will happen to all the fish-based recipes explicitly calling for carp meat? Will they be made to use a new, non-toxic fish product that'll require adjustment of the reagents in said dishes? My only concern is these don't exactly have a fishy aesthetic, and readjustment of all those recipes/foods may be out of the original scope of this idea.

This seems like a good idea. I don't really have anything to say aside from that.
-
This would certainly be interesting if the plan was to implement this alongside a persistent economy/bank down the line. Until then, I'm fairly ambivalent on it due to the fact that in-round accounts are already an RNG-based mess anyways. This is basically 'shrink their per-round wallet', rather than anything properly impactful.

Putting shit on another deck is how you don't map multi-z, it would only further exacerbate any problem one may feel in 'too large', and is downright awful for anything less than mega-high pop. Look at Bay's Torch and Polaris' Southern Cross as excellent examples of how not to map multi-z.
-
It's an optimal size currently. The main deck isn't too different from our old Boxstation map in size, and the main deck is what sees the most use outside of the sublevels (which effectively replaced outposts). I'm not typically against size reduction, but the overall station handles things quite fine. I'd only argue for reduction in the size of all the departments to push people towards the front/center a little further, but even this hasn't really proven necessary from my experience so far.

I don't like this, eliminates the weakness of energy weapons (inability to provide sustained fire via in-field reloads). I've seen it on servers before, and was fairly neutral at the time, but seeing arguments on the matter in the past has made me lean towards keeping them charge-only.

Disappointing.

It's true, RD has hardly anything extra that a capable Roboticist couldn't easily access anyways since all they need do at the moment is e-mag a borg. Giving them a lathe just means they can print shit for themselves with 0 questions asked.
-
I like the changes to maintenance, giving a feel of unfinished/unused rooms instead of the rather haphazard and dumpy feel it had before. Good job! My only criticism is extremely subjective and frivolous, and it's that I enjoyed the charm of the mismatched chairs in the vacant office. As a whole this is a fairly clean update.
-
I disagree for the reason that it presently encourages Robotics to further interact with cargo or their own department coworkers. If you're in a situation without said coworkers, you'd likely be able to either ask the AI/HoP for access or simply break in yourself via tools. As for balance (As if anyone cares about it), giving Robotics a lathe would make it one of the most frightening antag positions in the station. Nearly on par with an RD.
-
I expect it to do the opposite of the intended effect and make it even worse for people to escape from situations where a breach has suddenly occurred, thus leading to more deaths than anything. Seems annoying and not interesting in the slightest, compared to the suggestions of adding such effects to the medicines that treat the damage instead (Same intention, but far less lethal in a situation where it counts). Addendum: As for realism, you already go into paincrit fairly quickly if you're in a vacuum. With or without internals.

[2;bin 02/MAR/2019] Proper Resleeving Suggestion Thread
Carver replied to Snakebittenn's topic in Archive
The exact same argument can be currently presented with cloning, and the exact same answer is to be had: It's not the same person no matter how many things you copy+paste over. This is also why it's not functional immortality either. Is it murder? Yes. Is it immortality? No more so than cloning could have already been considered as such. As for the suggestion, entirely neutral. I play DNCs exclusively so this doesn't matter worth a shit to me. -
