  1. BYOND Key: hepatica01 Character Names: Klementine Kuznetsov, Meria Volvalaad, Zoya Kuznetsov, Jeremy Kemmer, Seymour Dahahn, Karyme Moghadam, Salvation, Saa Linha (ERT Kataphract, the very one my character is based on) Species you are applying to play: Unathi What color do you plan on making your first alien character: Green Have you read our lore section's page on this species?: I have, once last night, and various parts while writing this app Please provide well articulated answers to the following questions in a paragraph format. One paragraph minimum per question. Why do you wish to play this specific race: I've never been against the idea of making an Unathi whitelist, outside of making jokes. However, I've had 30/30 characters for years, and am constantly having to delete characters when I come up with a new idea. Basically what I mean by this, is that I've never had a great idea for an Unathi character that I would commit too, let alone be able to apply with. But after playing Kataphract ERT quite a few times, including on a canon round, and having a few ideas for this character floating around in the back of my mind, I decided to apply for it with this character as a visitor. I've always found Kataphract to be so interesting and cool, and I figure it'd be interesting to visit rarely every now and again to see people I had met on the canon round, and if Kataphract ERT pops up again, it'd be neat to have people know the character assuming I'm in the role, in the same idea of TCFL. Identify what makes role-playing this species different than role-playing a Human: Well, aside from the extremely obvious, they have a completely different set of moral and spiritual views (for the most part) then a lot of humans do. While in a select view ways they are similar in their backstory (civil war, religious conflict, etc), at the same time they are also different in their way of handling their society, such as the feudal system, or the wastelanders and the various ways they etch out their existence in the desert lands. Their culture, the way they interact with each other, such as frowning on hugging amongst adults, showing your neck as a sign of submission or intimacy, etc. But especially the code of honor and of course, one of the biggest differences from modern in universe humans, the separation between women and men in Unathi society, which is likely seen as barbaric and outdated amongst other races. Character Name: Trazarial Linha Please provide a short backstory for this character https://docs.google.com/document/d/1CZ76SHNE9pG8FkGUrSKkib_P89YcqFniSJ6ZKqDXm_w/edit?usp=sharing What do you like about this character? This character is one I had played as a Kataphract ERT a number of times, and had slowly thought of a brief backstory for while doing so. It wasn't until I played them in a canon round that I thought about making them an actual full fledged character. I started writing what I thought would be maybe a three or four page paragraphed, and... Well, ended up with a 13 paragraph backstory complete with it's own prologue and "where are they now". Whoops. I can't even begin to fully describe how much I love everything about this character, from their struggle to prove themselves, to their casting aside what their father wished of them to pursue their own goals, to their view on the spirits and how they live on within her. I would hope all 13 paragraphs of this character would truly show how much love I put into this character. How would you rate your role-playing ability? I consider myself to be an average roleplayer, sometimes above average. Notes: I didn't expect the 13 paragraphs, but I started writing and by the time I realized how deep in I was I was nine paragraphs in without an end in sight. It was a bit hard writing the story without using he/him or she/her, so I had to constantly use their name so people wouldn't be confused by they/them usages at a number of points.
  2. Reporting Personnel: Meria Volvalaad Job Title of Reporting Personnel: Captain Game ID: b9Y-daxp Personnel Involved: Bjorn Agni-son, Scientist, Offender Sam Chalgre, Roboticist, Offender Que Tup'Xequal'Valurex, Head of Security, Witness Xiao Zemin, Research Director, Witness Meria Volvalaad, Captain, Witness Time of Incident: Around 20:00 Real Time: About 4:40 PM GMT-6 Location of Incident: NSS Aurora Nature of Incident: [ ] - Workplace Hazard [ ] - Accident/Injury [ ] - Destruction of Property [ ] - Neglect of Duty [ ] - Harassment [ ] - Assault [ ] - Misconduct [X] - Other Stealing of the Research Shuttle, disobeying Command orders. Overview of the Incident: Towards the end of a shift, an expedition team led by Xiao Zemin returned from some site. This team included many members of science, including Bjorn Agni-son, and Sam Chalgre. When the expedition returned, it was stated that they wished to assemble a team to check to see if there were survivors within the cryo pods of the away site, some derelict station. It is important to note that when I told them that, considering the transfer, there was no point in mounting some rescue mission. Instead, I would inform Central of the situation, and if they so chose to do so, could send a team to check for survivors, or more likely, inform whomever owned the station instead so they could send a team to see if there were truly any survivors. Naturally, Sam Chalgre seemed quite displeased about this. So, while I was conversing with Xiao Zemin, Sam Chalgre and Bjorn Agni-son stole the shuttle on their own prerogative, armed with weaponry from both the armory locker as well as bolt action rifles purchased from cargo in clear defiance of my orders. Intent on playing hero, the two failed spectacularly as the shuttle was recalled back to the Aurora, the two injuring themselves in the process as they attempted to leave the shuttle. When they returned, both were apprehended by the Commander and by security force, Sam Chalgre needing medical attention as a result. Without mentioning the clear disregard for their own personal safety, disregard for my direct orders, and thinking that they can steal an entire shuttle belonging to the company for their own use, they also wholly disregarded any and all resources belonging to Nanotrasen, namely the phoron fuel required to operate the shuttle, completely wasted on their childish act of defiance. Submitted Evidence: ((As the round was ending I did not have the chance to screenshot everything, however my Captain had the away site waiver on her person at the end of the round)) Did you report it to a Head of Staff or a superior? If so, who? If not, why?: I was the highest ranking authority on station. Transfer prevented me from taking any further action aside from detainment against the two. Actions taken: They were detained for transfer to Odin, but the transfer shuttle had long since left. Additional Notes: I cannot stress the importance of, during a galaxy wide phoron shortage, the absolute buffoonery of their actions causing a large waste of phoron marked specifically for scientific expeditions, not wanton, foolhardy rescue missions.
  3. It doesn't make sense to do this. Science sub level is designed the way it is with the thought in mind that if something terrible happens, be it a horrid anomaly from xenoarchaeology, some kind of containment breach in xenobiology, or an outbreak in xenobotany, that the sub level can be safely locked down in a variety of ways, and the only ways out are the elevator, which can be secured, or going out through space, which, no matter what you do that's always going to be an option on a space station. Looking at this from a purely in universe perspective, they would never, ever, EVER remove the blast doors from xenobotany, especially not with the chance of a kois outbreak present, let alone something worse, and they wouldn't add an easy access ladder incase some worst case scenario happened in any one of those departments, which is always a possibility,, not even factoring in antags, in the Aurora SS13 universe.
  4. I have to agree with Schwann on this, very droopy, not a fan of that. It looks very, very strange as a result
  5. I think Head of Security's should absolutely know about the Nuke. I wouldn't trust a single Chief Engineer with this knowledge, though. Not even a little bit. I don't think the CMO needs to know either. An argument could be made for the Research Director, BUT I think Research Directors should have a mind shield as well, aside from the fact that they're expected to be trusted with all of the Aurora's research, they are suppose to be one of the most important staff aboard a research station. I think the Head of Security, Captain, and Research Director should know, and the Research Director should be mind shielded to prevent that knowledge from leaking out in a worst case scenario of their kidnapping or someone trying to get information out of them via some form of mind manipulation. The Head of Personnel doesn't need to know either, they're just a glorified paper pusher.

  7. It's the most low RP game mode conceivable on a High RP server. It's not worth the 2 rounds that were good out of the trillion that were not. Remove wizard, remove magistake, and do what we did with malf AI. Replace them with something new, like Burglars. Pleeease.
  8. +1, Shen has always done a great job with xeno characters, their RP is great and they are a wonderful person. I'm sure they'd do great with a vaurca whitelist
  9. I have literally been point blank hit by a frag grenade with no armor on and walked away from it icly. Laughable to call them instakill. Other explosive devices such as c4, welding tanks, and bombs, are far easier to play around then an ion one tapping you or an emp being thrown at your feet and detonating before you can properly react.
  10. +1, IPCs are practically unplayable as antag, which only inhibits the RP potential that could come from it. I love this idea, however. I have one, and only one, concern. Exosuits. We recently had a worm event in which robotics spammed out five exosuits, four of which I believe were warmachines built for combat. Now, naturally the worms would not have been able to emp them anyway, AND robotics has been nerfed recently as well, that being said, it is still not impossible, nor even difficult, to spam out combat exosuits as things currently stand, even without materials. While they would be quite weak, I admit, it could still be very, very hard to deal with. I think robotics weaponry should be nerfed to require materials other then glass and steel, as currently the laser canon and mounted machine gun only require the base materials. While I don't think exosuits should be something you look at and go "yeah lets just sneeze on it and its done", I do not want to see two combat roboticists rushing into a fight with two exosuits and gunning down antags.
