Staff Complaint - Garnascus
CampinKiller replied to CampinKiller's topic in Staff Complaints Archive
Technology is wack, case closed -
BYOND Key: CampinKiller Staff BYOND Key: Garnascus Game ID: 2 rounds prior to b8C-ayVx Reason for complaint: I received a warning for going SSD during an emergency as a head of staff. One problem though: my power cut out due to a storm, so this is not something I can control. Evidence/logs/etc: If you require news stories or text messages regarding it, I can give you that I suppose Additional remarks: Why in the name of God's green Earth am I being warned for the power cutting out? It's not like I SSD in important positions as a habit, this is honestly ridiculous.

One problem I noticed - if you're running from something like bats or viscerators that you have to hit to destroy (ie. actually click on them), it's nearly impossible to fire behind you while doing so, so you have to stay put to do it

I had someone at 50% brain activity from ~80% blood oxy. Their only wounds were a fracture and some blood loss, but no internal

Explosive implant set to "ass" triggered from "mass" in "mass murder"

I do think that the blood oxy level at which brain damage occurs should be lower. 85% is like 99/65, which is definitely low, but not going to kill you. My blood pressure irl tends low anyway, and I've been dehydrated before and had a BP of like 85/39, which isn't good, but it wasn't causing me to die either.

Pffft you never play

At this point, I'd prefer to have sub-offices be added in, and no other changes. Let it be used if Sec wants to use it, but don't force it. That way we don't have to have some asinine policy of an RD commanding a Sec officer in their department over the HoS doing so.

stop sweeping maintenance the second the round starts

How is it not canon if it happens every time? Are the bats in the warehouse randomly spawning not canon? What about carp attacks? Those are just gameplay mechanics after all -
This character came up to my HoS during a code red boarding, telling him that he would take a rifle because he was some sort of magical or protected person by their diety

How about we just leave it the same? -
Some of the most enjoyable rounds I've played in involved my death or an actual fight to avoid a death. @Resilynn will recall a cult round where he had to frantically save Price's life after his arm got cut off, followed by holing up in Virology and waiting for an ERT to arrive, constantly under threat, and culminating in a massive fight as the shuttle left with the innocent crew that involved all of command being killed. That was probably my most enjoyable death in SS13, and there are many more times where it has been fun to fail. Dying happens, it's a game, and yeah, it can suck, but if you can't find something else to do for 20 minutes, I'd be concerned.

I've had some good rounds where this has happened, though. And honestly, cryo'ing because you think a gimmick might turn out badly is a shit thing to do

This is the equivalent to using a .50 caliber MG on a rabbit -

So HoS characters go fuck themselves and become HoPs or just get put under the command of someone with no security experience? -
[2 dismissal]New Rules for Head of Staff
CampinKiller replied to IAmCrystalClear's topic in Rejected Policy
To add to the above about Detectives, IRL Detectives are, 95% of the time, officers who took an exam and did further training to become a detective. Not some random schmuck pulled in and given a gun. -
The red uniforms looked like shit compared to the blue and what we have now. And I used to love the red uniforms, and didn’t initially like the switch. This really comes down to personal preference. I like the blue uniform as an officer, because it’s a nice contrast to the vest I wear over it, and it looks professional. Some people prefer the all black getup, which there isn’t anything wrong with, though it doesn’t look completely professional. At the end of the day, this is a corporate security arm, and there are visitors and persons not employed by NanoTrasen on board. It looks a lot better to appear professional to the public, as opposed to looking like a soldier that might bag you if you say something bad about the company

Personally, if you throw a couple sentences out, cool, whatever. If you continually speak in whatever language nobody can understand you in, you should probably be PDA'ing whoever you're talking to, instead of flooding Common with something that few can understand. If you are told to cease by a head of staff and keep doing it, then you've given them a reason to charge you.

I like this. However, I wear the EMT jacket. I think it looks good :c

I was originally in support of this, but not anymore. If we are completely removing the ability of Sec to coordinate, they will be rolled on a constant basis. As an HoS-main, I will have approximately 0 power over my officers outside of code red, because “the officers are under their department heads, who are encouraged to listen to advice of HoS.” Any antags that work together would smoke the station. The goal of a round isn’t to win, yes, but if we want a chaotic, antag station every round, why don’t we rebrand as that and switch to LRP? There are better ways to rework sec that don’t involved cutting the HoS’s balls off and making it impossible for them to coordinate

Something that wasnt really addressed (that I saw) was my question in regards to association with these groups. If one these groups are stated to want command staff gone, is that not to be considered sedition for undermining the chain of command?
-
Both of these organizations goals very quickly veer into sedition/mutiny territory. Is association with these groups cause for arrest on these charges? Also, this seems very hamfisted, as others have said, into a "unions good, evil corporate bad" mindset.
