  1. I've worked with Pegasus frequently. This in my opinion is a no brainer upgrade to their responsibilities. Pegasus is a capable writer and is able to take criticism and give it.
  2. Probably because roboticsts are in high demand. Not gonna lie, most jobs on the station could be automated and their demand wouldn't really ever decrease unless they automated their own profession
  3. BYOND Key: BygoneheroStaff BYOND Key: GarnascusGame ID: N/AEvidence/logs/etc:Additional remarks: So, there's an unfair advantage when it comes to the rules, in that they favor crew players over antags. I'll explain what I mean by this. According to Garnascus, as an antag, if someone saw me breaking into the vault, I would be alright in killing them without speaking to them first. This, frankly, isn't true, and anyone that was killed this way, especially if it's near the start of the round, or if it's the first time they have seen the antag, will ahelp this, most likely with their grievances successfully acted upon by admins. HOWEVER The reverse, is ok, If - say, someone saw the antag breaking into the vault, they would be well within their rights to disable/kill/subdue that antag without any interaction. This would, under the auspices of Garn, be also acceptable. Now let's take the latter situation and make it even worse. Lets say a member of your antag team gets caught, and/or/then killed breaking into the vault by security. This now means, again according to Garn, that your entire team is now subject to termination, by association with your slain teammate, if an association can be logically surmised by players. (It most always can) This, is frankly bullpoop and it allows security to punish antags so much. Context should not matter in the terms of rules. They are not contextual, they are rules. A gank is to kill someone without interaction with them. Lets enforce that rule rather than create arbitrary distinctions such as guilt by association. By using this logic, its ok for antags to murder every single member of security the second one member of security fires on them. This is again, NOT TRUE, and AGAIN highlights the unfair lenanince that the crew are given in regards with the rules. After experiences this firsthand, across more than one round, but with no specific admin besides Garn, who is the most recent case, I think this should be addressed, or-some kind of protection be implaced for antags, to the same degree of the crew. The crew deserve roleplay. The antag deserves roleplay. A Gank is to kill without having interactions with a person. There is no caveats to modify this. Either you ganked someone or you did not. Either I gave someone interaction, or I did not. Guilt by association is a way around this rule, and it allows players to nip a blooming round in the bud, for antags and crew, before it even gets a chance to start.
  4. The first part of a story that captured me while I was writing some lore drafts. I'll continue it if interest is high. Some context, Its told primarily from the point of view of the Lii'dra High Queen. The story takes place at the end of the first hive war, but before the sinking of Illuau'tia. Illuau'tia is a Lii'dra city.
  5. Application withdrawn by applicant
  6. Except, it was a legitimate PR. I don't see where you find that its a joke coming from, and while it might be easy to assume so considering its content, its not without precedent as Vaurca were seriously being considered to be removed in less time than it took skrell to once again gain a overseer. Additionally lets not forget what this did, not a few days later several applicatants suddenly appeared applying for skrell dev. Fowl and I had a discussion about the interesting tidbits of skrell lore, which led to himself applying. This entire thread against him is based his words of saying mean things to someone in discord. Actions speak louder than words and tend to also reveal someone's intent a lot clearer than words. Perhaps you should start looking at Fowls actions, because I assure you, I have said mean things to people too, as well as disagree with them when they call my ideas poo. The difference is that there is no difference between what I and other staff and fowl say on discord. But you know what none of us have? Malicious intent. Your entire argument against him is that he's performing these things against people with malicious intent, with silly calender events or volatile posts about a subject. Only positive things have come out of these activities. Better a bad idea be killed before someone wastes time on it, better a calender system be killed before someone abuses it to seriously mess with people. This thread is piling so much up against fowl with little evidence or unopinionated insight, it is ultimately a hill this thread and case will die on.
  7. The lore surrounding this item is not often found, and giving a way to inject it into the station, by medium of your character is a good thing indeed. +1
  8. I've worked with fowl probably more than any single developer in recent times, I have never had a problem with him. If everyone had the same passion for the lore fowl has, then we would be better for it. Fowl has never provided me negative criticism. There is always a reason and its from their oblique point of view, without reguard to niceties or sacred cows that I have become a better lore writer in general. This is just in my opinion harsh criticism taken personally, with assumed ill intent. You will likely not find a better person to hold the lore as it is to task than fowl.
  9. Reading this, how do you think the arrival of the K'lax interact with this faction? How do you see hegemony and K'lax relationships?
  10. Thanks for linking your application through docs, it helped a ton. I love your concept. It makes me wonder the mental ramifications of casting a person in a singular role. Imagine if your mind was made to fix the injured, could that manifest as obsessive compulsive behavior, or as you said, being creepy? Who knows, but its a good thing to think about! Application accepted!
  11. I'm fine with this. It would be lore friendly too. It wouldn't make sense for one Vaurca to have a bank account, it would be shared amongst a hive cell, and funds would be dispensed from whatever Ka or perhaps a Ta that decides to oversee it.
  12. The reason why it is discouraged to apply as a bound is that it is difficult to convey a character with one. They are little more than what they appear, and while this doesn't prevent them from having a complex life, it is hard to convey that in the traditional sense as you could with other characters. Socially, they are products of their environment rather than the people they hang out with. This is why I really like your application. I don't need to know much more about your character aboard the NMV Poseidon BUT what they did, and who they impacted with their duty can provide development all the same, something that could be explored if you wished. With this said, Your application is creative and excellent. It hits all the marks I hope to see in a whitelistee. Application Accepted!
  13. Make a K'ois Tofu that is created by mixing universal enzyme and filtered k'ois, use K'ois Tofu where you would traditionally use a K'ois fruit. Problem solved. Amazing
  14. Same question I gave Moon, because, its an important one. You can write amazing lore all day, but translating it into something that the average player will use is another, arguably 'more' important matter.
  15. Jawdat was the tajara that got me to read tajara lore. That being said, they are goofy, but in a wholesome way. I am not sure if theres a better way to describe it, but, for me at least, I always feel like I am communicating with someone that lets their natural charisma work for them. Jawdat is goofy, but also intensely likable. He inspires loyalty and generally keeps apprised of the situations that do occur, rather than let them trample him underfoot. To put it in more simple terms, he is not a casual observer, something that regularly plagues the HoP role.
  16. A memorable application that leaves me wanting more. I would read stories about Iok should you ever decide to put more of their early 'childhood' to paper. Your story conveys enough detail that leaves me wanting more, so give me more! (in game) Application accepted!
  17. I really like your character idea, and seeing a Vaurca colored by their interactions with Dominia is interesting. Application accepted!
  18. Application Accepted! Look forward in seeing you in game!
  19. As long as it does not interfere with damage overlays, I can get behind this as a way for you to express your characters more.
  20. What does a Skrell Warble sound like to you? Since its an emote, does it give a facial expression? What does warbling mean or, why do Skrell warble about things?
  21. Theres been a push to give synthetics a culture of their own, in an attempt to better describe the average day-to-day problems an intelligent synthetic could face. My question to you is deceptively complicated, but its a question thats probably the most important one for players using your lore. "Can you describe a day in the life of a regular (possibly free) synthetic working for Nanotrasen?" This question is important because it is the basis of roleplaying those characters. If you cannot imagine someones day to day activities, how could you ever hope the players to?
  22. What part of human history do you think fascinated Viez, do you think they would have gotten involved in the historical sims in some way?
  23. Or lackthereof, considering how much of a wet noodle a traitor AI is compared to that of a malf AI. Play a traitor AI as opposed to a malf one sometime and you'll see how only not having laws doesn't actually expand gameplay opportunities whatsoever. It's like comparing a guppy to a large trout, the large trout tends to contribute in more meaningful ways to its ecosystem than the ill-equipped guppy does. Consistency in antagonist power dynamics is very important for an experience that seems to be so heavily reliant on antagonists to 'make things happen'. Malfunctioning AI types happen to 'make things happen' in the round to a far more interesting and impactful degree than a traitor AI does. A traitor AI is far more dependent on its borgs than what a malfunctioning AI is capable of doing by its lonesome. I welcome this change, honestly, regardless of the standard canned counter-arguments I've seen against this change already. AI is the single most powerful crew role. it is in no way a wet noodle. As fowl suggested, if you must do something, give it new abilities that better differentiate it from standard AI, not remove it entirely.
  24. Traitor AI doesn't need powers to be an antagonist. The addition of a new game mode will only make the possibility even more remote of it ever occurring in the first place.
  25. What does a Skrell Warble sound like to you? Since its an emote, does it give a facial expression? What does warbling mean or, why do Skrell warble about things?
