Scheveningen Posted April 3, 2017 Posted April 3, 2017 A thread where we discuss the real rules of Aurorastation. Posters that stray off-topic or get too serious for comfort will be asked to not post here. The head of personnel getting his own personal sawed off shotgun every round to fend off antagonistic threats is standard operating procedure. Just let it happen. The contents of the cargo warehouse are ALWAYS to be meddled with. No exceptions. Adding cratey to security was the last actual good developmental change, not even snake people or the upcoming new map will have changed that perception. Belittling a combat drone for its diminutive stature before being lit up by its pulse emitter is proper exercising of the past-time "ironic Darwinism". Quote
Ron Posted April 3, 2017 Posted April 3, 2017 Taking everything, even as an assistant or visitor, from tool storage is perfectly acceptable and expected. Quote
ToasterStrudel Posted April 3, 2017 Posted April 3, 2017 You must call Tajara Catbeasts, Unathi Liggers, IPC's Toasters, and Skrell Squids. If you play a female character that is a doctor or nurse, you must be lesbian. If you play a Catbeast, you must find a group/harem, if you do not, you are a social outcast. If you don't like someone and you are a Head of Staff, make them fill out paperwork for EVERYTHING. Don't gank the mice You must pick up the maintenance drones and put them on your head any time you see them, if they run away, the only punishment is destruction. Quote
Guest Complete Garbage Posted April 3, 2017 Posted April 3, 2017 If you are the Captain, you must immediately secure the antique laser gun. As the Warden, your sole duty is to go over the HoS' head and order more weapons from cargo and science. All good chefs will take Pun Pun and throw him into the deep fryer. As the Chief Engineer, you should coordinate with the HoS to round up all of the Tajara and throw them into the SMC. Never ahelp, even if you're having a problem with another player, an in-game issue, or need approval for a destructive action. Admins are not there for your silly in-game antics, and if you bother them, you'll probably be banned. Quote
Alberyk Posted April 3, 2017 Posted April 3, 2017 Force gloves are part of the standard research uniform. The garden hatchet is there to be taken by the first crewmember to find it. Spear making is essential part of the unathi culture. Grenades and cuffs are part of the mouse's diet, that is why they always chew those boxes. Mining drills will always explode, do not matter what. Attacking a blob in melee is essencial part of engineering and security's training when dealing with biohazards. Medbay is a vile den filled with spiders, slimes, vampires and lesbian nurses. Quote
ToasterStrudel Posted April 3, 2017 Posted April 3, 2017 If security is killed by antags, the job to kill them falls to Engineering. If engineering is killed, Research, then cargo, then Janitorial staff, if you follow this out of order you will be banned for valid hunting, no exceptions. All other Heads of Staff should ignore the RD, they are unimportant, and can shove their multiple PHD's somewhere. Quote
Lonely Caravan Posted April 3, 2017 Posted April 3, 2017 If you are new, be a greytider. Ahelp insulting the admins. If you are a xenobiologist, you NEED to die at the first 10 minutes. Quote
TheLetterH Posted April 3, 2017 Posted April 3, 2017 IPCs may destroy whatever/whoever they like, as they don't know their own strength. Quote
incognitojesus Posted April 3, 2017 Posted April 3, 2017 Every member of security must have a background that includes military service and decorations of the highest order and must have been involved in a historic battle where they personally killed dozens of enemies but now have PTSD. They must then use said PTSD as an excuse to wear their helmet everywhere and go buck wild every five minutes, shooting any bystanders. Quote
Fire and Glory Posted April 3, 2017 Posted April 3, 2017 Any petty feud you have with another crew member must be kept and continuously acted on for the entire round, no matter what. Quote
Faris Posted April 3, 2017 Posted April 3, 2017 When joining a round, you may ghost at any whim of any antags you dislike. This is a must. Not rolling antag is a mark of shame that can only be soothed by immediately going to cryo: the game is not worth playing otherwise. Quote
Synnono Posted April 4, 2017 Posted April 4, 2017 As the AI, you are law-bound to spam disparaging AI announcements and make passive aggressive comments on comms about any crewman you dislike. Everyone needs to know. Do not let the fact that you are functionally without emotions stop you from being controlled by them. Quote
DatBerry Posted April 4, 2017 Posted April 4, 2017 People who steal the garden hatchet are valid, fucking valid. if you see someone taking it and leaving it is your holy duty to behead them where they stand, their actions are a crime against nanotrasen and her people. As engineering, it is your duty to make a butterfly knife and shove it up your ass round start, that's why the plasteel is there. All assistants are ex-convicts that you must keep your eyes on, most are charged with grand theft and murder. Any announcement lacking a CCIAA signature is a clear breach of security and it must mean the AI is rouge colored. Insulated gloves are contraband, an assistant wearing insulated gloves is a security breach!!!! Having a prosthetic means you have a certificate in prosthetic and robot repairs Half the engineers are all part time roboticists, the other half are ex military. Everyone knows how to dislocate limbs, it's easy just literally a few clicks. Everyone has a black belt in multiply martial arts. Quote
Spectrosis Posted April 4, 2017 Posted April 4, 2017 As a chemist, it is your duty to choral the other chemist if you catch him making chloral or any other controlled substances. Quote
The Stryker Posted April 4, 2017 Posted April 4, 2017 The warden is just a security officer with a gun. You are also second to the HOS. If anyone questions you, give them guns to keep them happy. Quote
Guest Complete Garbage Posted April 4, 2017 Posted April 4, 2017 As a member of medical staff, (especially CMO!!,) your sole duty is to commit suicide if you haven't treated a patient in the past hour. Quote
TrickingTrapster Posted April 5, 2017 Posted April 5, 2017 As engineer, it is mandatory to open up the phoron valve; Never mind the atmospheric technicians, they don't know how healthy phoron is. Additionally, as atmospheric technician, you are just a second-rank engineer: You should know how everything works despite not having access to it, if you don't, you are a bad player. If a head of staff gives you an order, ignore it; You know what you're doing way better anyway. Quote
Coalf Posted April 5, 2017 Posted April 5, 2017 Numero uno rule. The magnum opus of rules. The head honcho of rules. Never and I mean never ever, walk in the central hallway with help intent on, don't show anyone you're some kind of a beta bitch that can be pushed around, remember kids, keep your disarm on, walk safe. Quote
Guest Complete Garbage Posted April 5, 2017 Posted April 5, 2017 As a member of security, ensure your prisoners' arms and legs are removed. If amputation is out of the question, you can always spring for still-effective(, but lesser so,) tactics of quadruple dislocation and/or a straitjacket-bedbuckle. Quote
Conservatron Posted April 13, 2017 Posted April 13, 2017 If you need a security problem resolved go to engineering and enlist the militia Quote
Skull132 Posted April 14, 2017 Posted April 14, 2017 Most people who say they won't be coming back usually come back. Quote
Nikov Posted April 20, 2017 Posted April 20, 2017 Should more than one APC be found in a bluescreen, all heads of staff are encouraged to report to cryo storage or engage in chair RP. Do not, under any circumstances, investigate a stealth-malf AI. Upon code delta, move calmly toward the airlocks. The quartermaster and cargo technicians exist to restock the Engineering department. The Engineering department is a supply depot for Robotics and civilian remodeling. Firelocks are suggestions, not rules. Synths, cyborgs, drones and AI's are machines. Engineers design and maintain machines for a specific task. If the machine gets uppity, it is malfunctioning and requires percussive maintenance. Toxins fires should be allowed to burn until the responsible party is reported as dead by the AI or medical staff. Only then should firefighting begin. In the event of a toxins fire, research personnel should remain in inside the reinforced steel box sealed off by blast doors capable of withstanding temperatures up to 5000 kelvin. Leaving this fire-proof box with while a fire is inside of it would be just silly. Blobs should be assailed by all crewmembers regardless of training or protective gear. Space vines should be ignored by all crew and dealt with by no more than one cyborg. The human lung contains a tamper-resistant seal that ruptures at 20kpa. Pressures below 20kpa void your lung's warranty and must be serviced by a licensed medical professional. To prevent further operational damage to your lung after it violates warranty, the diaphragm will periodically reboot. Quote
AllyBearsley Posted April 20, 2017 Posted April 20, 2017 If ECOM is your AI for the shift kiss your butt goodbye Quote
Scheveningen Posted April 20, 2017 Author Posted April 20, 2017 Yes, you can break those cuffs. With an Unathi whitelist. Capasaicin is short for "popping a cap in some saicin assistants", feel free to prime those canisters just about anywhere, don't even wear a mask. Flashbangs should be treated like actual grenades. As in, they should be used in combat wherever possible. Hoarding ammunition is acceptable if your character is ex-military and has the justification to shoot more people than normally needed. Quote
