I find it immensely rewarding that there's someone else behind the screen having as much fun as I am. Why do you play on Aurora?: I find it the most mature server, I guess. My roleplay style aligns with it as well, I didn't really come in with innate knowledge of the lore, but I was able to ad-lib and stretch my creativity, which I enjoy. What do moderators do?: What does it mean to be a moderator for our server?: For the most part, facilitate roleplay and break up OOC conflict (except for roleplay conflict in acceptable boundaries) Why do you want to be a moderator?: I want to try my hand at hosting an event. What qualities do you possess that would make you a good moderator?: I like to give the benefit of doubt and see things from other's point of view, and I'm not afraid to ask how they feel. I don't like to take sides or "affiliate" with a group or another. I'm also quite confident in seperating myself as a person from my roles. I'm going in understanding that moderator's a thankless job. How well do you handle stress, anger, or insults?: I say pretty well. In heated situations, I know when my emotions are getting the better of me and simply just take a breather. I don't like the notion of having old men giving me different moods. I don't know, seems a little teetering on the edge of affecting how other people roleplay mechanically, which is a big no-no (such as the attraction mental trauma) So I'm feeling quite against it. Also, I feel like this'll encourage more "Let's gang up and kill the heads of staff" that cargo moonlights in.

I stand firmly that Necropolis being in Security was a mistake, and shouldn't have been in the game in the first place, i.e, Lore wasn't written for it, and they were implemented as security by accident. So technically, this is a bugfix. It's kinda stupid to rewrite the LORE because of a bug. It's like if bicaridine accidentally was turned into a dangerous neurotoxin due to a coding error, and then the lore behind bicaridine was rewritten to say it was a neurotoxin all along! Personally I think Necropolis Security aren't that good in the roleplay department anyway (with an infamous reputation of powergaming, mind you), and I think a full retcon wouldn't affect anything. We did it with the Vox, we can do it again.

this seems cool at first glance, HOWEVER we've tried voices before, and they didn't work. also, this'll make our server a little more video-gamey. Which would work for a LRP/MRP server, where mechanics are more of the focal point. but this is a roleplay server, and roleplay and characters are the focal point, and it'll get pretty immersion breaking when your character lets out a DEEP BASS BLOODCURTLING SCREAM when they die. Also the fact that we have female characters too. Well, I guess it could work without the scream, but that's a stretch However, we do need a sound designer, we need sounds, so your talent's defo in demand here.

I definitely think the durability system would be extremely interesting, with many more features which could be tacked on, e.g. repairing armor, makeshift armor, crafting, sliding in armored plates and stuff, armor mods... And it'll also make fights more dynamic - you could possibly win through attrition in prolonged gunfights, instead of trying to cheese it by injecting sleepy juice and slicing their head off. Also, cross resistance damage. Taking a bullet in your radiation suit means radiation will leak in - leading to both reduced bullet and radiation resistance. However, it'll also make it exponentially harder and a P.I.T.A to code as well as balance properly, since you know, there's so many variables. Unless you're up to it, of course, which means just no problem.

Well, I guess 'not everyone' was kinda vague. What I meant like, there's definitely groups of people who do and don't. There's no real majority in either way, so we've gotta take a more careful, neutral approach. You know the only thing I'm going to be a little staunch on here is on medical/employment records, because those IRL are biological sex Flavortext and examine can be whatever. [ aliens and robots are the exception here ] Anyway, my response is mostly the same as Skull's.

Allow me to play Devil's Advocate here. I'm not against this, I just wanted to express some of my thoughts 1. We can already just push for this in flavor-text Just echoing what Carver said, I guess. 2. Female and Male sprites have visible differences Like, for example, Unathi muzzles, Human sprites in general. You know, this isn't really a problem for IPCs and Dionae, since there isn't any sexual dimorphism 2.5. We'd have to seperate genders and the sprites in the code I'm not sure how old this code is, but it'll be somewhat of a challenge to seperate the gender stuff and pronouns, like MALE use MALE sprite and FEMALE use FEMALE sprite 3. Medical Terminology Since we have medical and employment records, It's usually standard to use biological gender. Since you know, not everyone deals with pronouns like this on a daily basis, and I know myself pretty well that I need to make a sustained effort to use neutral pronouns. It's going to be confusing for the guy when he types out an entire paragraph of medical records. It's a lot easier to deal with absolutes, and we've gotta cater to the average joe around here.

Honestly, the only realistic knives are penknives for Cargo for opening boxes, or the knives in the kitchen. Imagine you're eating at McDonalds and the janitor's just casually carrying a knife for self defence. Other than being powergamey, it's just stupid.

The entire research department relies on mining. And the reliance on Research could be solved by just giving them science access. The only equipment they're qualified to distribute are mechs, borgs, bionics, the like WHY? Doesn't that literally defeat the entire purpose of Scientist as an actual job? So you're moving the problem of Scientists being bored of the minigame to Roboticists who are equally uninterested to do said minigame, because they picked roboticist SPECIFICALLY to avoid it and build mechs instead. ...this just shoves them out of their job scope. They're supposed to mostly focus on mechs, bionics, synths, the like. They aren't supposed to be researching. Scientists get a tightening on focus...on what, exactly? This just encourages to make weapons and bombs to their heart's content, since all responsibility to make important things are now shoved to the Roboticist. This basically tips the balance ALL to the roboticist's side, further exaggerating the problem you're trying to solve. Speaking of which, the mapping changes are questionable at best. Replacing about 1/5 of the entire department with a break room (containing an oven, for some reason) AND smoking room (which has no place to be there), shoving Science's actual equipment to the wayside.

So I went to take a look at the new terminal sprites. They look out of place. The screens are this weird teal color which matches NOTHING in our game right now, and the original holographic style is gone. I honestly preferred the old intercoms. They didn't pop out as much, and they felt like they belonged in the walls. Same with the APCs. They now have way too much visual clutter and don't look like they actually fit on the wall - it's like they got glued on. They've also got exposed wires, and this weird white outline, which makes no sense to me.

The tiles have way too little contrast between colors, creating this "blur" effect, making it look smudged. It is the most obvious in the while tile sprites, but I can attest to the darker sprites having the same problem, however it's less noticeable in the darker colors. Also, again with the scrubbers and vents - they only seem to look good in certain areas, and terrible in others. They need to be tested in different environments first. Just because they look good in one region doesn't mean they look good in another by extension. And here - the paint doesn't fit in the tiles properly.

I think it's fine Medals are criminally unused anyway
