  1. We already have the protoguns framework. Why not use it instead? It's more flexible due to differently sized assemblies and a number of modifications that's more than one. It just needs some sort of buff to make it wear and tear less.
  2. This is a really good reason, and I like it a lot! It's telling something about his character. +1 from me now.
  3. Skrell with military background is largely an unexplored frontier, and I'd really love to see more skrell that are not centering their life around research/engineering. However, I feel like their reason to come to NT doesn't make much sense. If they are seeking to attend a military academy, especially considering how skrell focus on infiltration in their warfare, why did Quexel decide to... become a mall cop, basically? Why would a skrell (and skrell are really strict with education, given how extremely important it is in their society) military academy accept this as a reference? Surely Quexel could have chosen an actual (para)military operation, like IMV Icarus? If that is resolved, I'm fully in support of this app. A fresh perspective on the skrell, coming from a really good player. For now, neutral.

  5. The ultimate shitpost machine. Love him on the relay, sadly haven't interacted a lot in-game.
  6. IPC IAAs make a lot of sense, especially shells - they're the absolute best at being unbiased, and the shell frames in particular are easily approachable. As do RDs, CMOs and CEs due to IPCs' superhuman computational capability and extensive data banks. However, I'm in support of requiring an avowal for HoP and HoS, as there are mostly no inherent features that make them appropriate for HoP or HoS.
  7. I agree with everything Burger said, and: 1. Nanotrasen doesn't seem particularly interested in researching genetics. Not to mention that a medical research station already exists - why bloat the already very multipurpose Aurora with genetics research as well? Virology, as I see it, exists on the rock because of the unique microorganisms that might exist on said rock (i.e. WHAT IF WE FIND A VIRUS THAT TURNS PEOPLE INTO PHORON?) 2. Genetics is incredibly gamey. Like with R&D, attempting to ICly make sense of "roll the right dice get superpowers" is next to impossible. If an Aurora scientist can give people superpowers in 15 minutes, I wonder why this is not reflected in the lore with eeeveryone having superpowers by now. So you come to the logical conclusion that it doesn't work ICly like it does mechanically, and this is... incredibly bad, considering we're on a HRP server, just like R&D is.
  8. Not all Skrell have had contact with Sol. I don't see why all Skrell would understand Common.
  9. Humans are physically able to talk in Russian - see Russians. Humans would be physically unable to speak Skrellian - they can't convey many important pitches. We don't know how important these pitches actually are - they may very well be extremely significant, able to turn most sentences on their heads entirely if not conveyed properly, while I don't know of any such properties Russian language has - you can speak with a thick accent and be easily understood.

  17. Cool stuff. One question though, toxins tests aren't counted in the chaos rating, right? And does the size of the explosion affect how much it contributes to the rating? Also, how chaotic are antags according to job, exactly?
  18. I really support this! Nothing grinds my gears more than seeing "lololololol mice infestation xddddddddd" while things are very clearly happening. Extended rounds also could have less of the "dangerous" events like the reworked blob. How will the chaos rating be calculated?
  19. Even though KAs are a great mechanic on paper, most of its potential is lost due to the crew actually having very restricted options on what to built. All miners request the same KA. The rare parts are almost never found, and if they are, it turns out you don't have other parts required to make them work. I don't think it's the intention of this mechanic (why make something modular if it's all going to be the same each time anyway?). At least a nerfed variant of these specialized frames and parts would be great to facilitate interaction and roleplay more than "hewo i giv materels you giv ka".

  23. Nah. Hiding knives in boots is already funny enough. Maybe more tiny stuff should be able to be stuffable inside boots, but do give an easy option to search them. It's just that security always forgets boots exist.
  24. Please improve the general availability of disposal bins on science sublevel. In particular, adding these to the office or/and the firing range would be welcome, as going up everytime I need to dispose of a shooting target with funny sound effects specimen is kinda inconvenient.
