  1. Generally I only wear badges, different shoes (such as dress shoes and taller boots), and sometimes a tie as I believe officers should be easily identifiable. The most "out there" officer I have is one that attaches a Trinary Perfection cape to her armor and wears a submariner's coat while coming on and off of duty.
  2. Remove it. I'm sick of watching M.E.A.T.B.O.T. body antagonists with its free whacking robot every other round as security wonders why there is a rock 'em sock 'em robot running around.
  3. I have known Danse long enough to know that he is passionate about lore and about creating characters. I trust that he will handle the role of consular officer extremely well, and that he will make a good - perhaps great - character for the role. This application has my support, and I wish you the best of luck.
  4. New planet read it here https://wiki.aurorastation.org/index.php?title=Gadpathur
  5. Geeves has threatened to rip my arms off if I do not comment on this application and, while he might be trying to bluff me, that is not a risk I want to take. Threats against my life aside, Happy Fox plays one of my favorite science characters (as a lore writer I am contractually obligated to not tell you my favorite, which means it could be you reading this) and has shown themselves to be a very capable research director able to handle a variety of situations. I have nothing to give other than my support, so here's my +1.
  6. I'm a little confused as to what Hoffmann is meant to be, as I've seen her as both a Hephaestus liaison and a consular officer. Could you clarify this?
  7. I support this. It gives a pretty underused item a niche to exist in and helps alleviate some of the headaches that now originate from going EVA in the post-meson world. Besides, don't most lanterns produce light in a circle anyways?
  8. Moving it backs allows more lore opportunities and, as NiennaB stated, allows a more natural flow. IPC lore has always felt hyper-compressed to me, and it's often hard for me to justify them being so young (~30 years) and so prevalent. Shells in particular have always bugged me: they're one of our most prevalent IPC types in lore, and are five years old in our setting. In five years they've managed to go everywhere in the Orion Spur (especially corporations such as Idris) and become a political problem in many factions. It's never really made sense to me when I think hard about it. It also creates awkward scenarios wherein a modern, top-of-the-line-perfectly-human shell and uncanny valley prototype shells are divided by a few years at best and months at worst. This will also help the Trinary Perfection greatly, as it gives them time to expand to something beyond a weird, recently formed fringe group. I've felt this often when making IPCs. It's hard to make a compelling backstory with, give or take, five years for a shell and I'm often left feeling unsatisfied. At worst, I sometimes feel like I've made a Mary Sue that progresses through everything super rapidly and can't make any mistakes as I write a character's journey to the Aurora in the space of only a few years. My backgrounds often end up feeling like a compressed mess of overlapping events and occurrences taking place at a breakneck pace. Regarding IPC rights, I have full confidence that the synthetic team will handle their precarious situation well. If anything, their rights seem to have progressed extremely quickly in thirty years and this will help it seem more reasonable. My vote is to move the clock back thirty years, to 2407, in order to give the most room for IPCs to grow in our lore.
  9. More edits to Dominia. Notably, the tribunal commandos have been removed. https://wiki.aurorastation.org/index.php?title=Empire_of_Dominia
  10. Hello, I played the warden that was murdered in this round. I want to comment on one thing. I did not willingly come down to the construction level. Your fellow cultist, Julius Chet, stopped the elevator while I was traveling downwards. Shortly after I asked what you were doing. you walked forward and began stabbing me to death while I was completely unarmed. You then did the same thing to two other people. I spent more time in transit on the transfer shuttle than I spent alive on the Aurora. It was an utterly miserable experience.
  11. I (with the help of editors) wrote Europa finally. Read it here: https://wiki.aurorastation.org/index.php?title=Europa
  12. killed by the RP mafia... gone but never forgotten...
  13. I don't like it, and here are some of my reasons: - Blasters are pretty dated in our setting, especially compared to lasers. This is supposed to be one of the best NT stations, why is the security wing being given the same guns that the poorly-equipped TCFL gets? - This gives security free lethals when they're antagonists, since command likes to elevate the code as soon as somebody sneezes. - This will likely create a strategy I saw on Bay: antagonists lowering the code to green to disable security's lethal ability, then command elevating it, then command elevating it again, repeat until the round ends. - It makes being an antagonist harder, since all officers can now shoot through windows on any code (and I bet they'll shoot you with lethal shots if they get their chance. - The ion issue. I'm not opposed to this being a replacement for our energy pistols, which are a relic from the /tg/ days and have a mediocre sprite, but I don't think they should replace security's ballistics.
  14. Why did you choose to cut medical resident instead of medical intern?
  15. Hello! This is denied, as we have both better plans for this sort of thing and this is an exception to lore that has been set in stone for years. For any questions regarding cloning, please consult this page.
  16. I disagree with the other two members of this thread. Roboticists get an absolutely busted amount of content for just one job, such as: Building and repairing hardsuits Building and repairing exosuits Cyborg maintenance AI maintenance Repairing cyborgs Cyborgification (the surgery) Building cyborgs (the chassis) Piloting exosuits Using hardsuits Repairing external and internal prosthetics Installing internal and external prosthetics This is a pretty huge amount of content for one job title (I probably forgot a few things, honestly), and the alternative titles help designate what a character is supposed to be good at. I'd much rather see robotics have its alternative jobs better described (i.e. with what they can do written down) or the job changed to be a biomechanical engineer and a mechatronic engineer (with both being one-slot jobs). As such, I can't support this PR as it now stands.
  17. Please for the love of god add this, my ears bleed at the sound of piano MIDIs of anime songs whenever I go to cargo.
  18. 2462.07.08 CROWN PRINCESS PRISCILLA ADDRESSES NATION ON FOUNDING DAY! This year’s founding day was a fortuitous day in the history of our grand Empire, united in faith, as it was the three-hundredth and twenty-fifth anniversary of when humankind first set foot upon the planet of Moroz. Celebrations have been held throughout the Empire to honour the memory of our pioneering ancestors, who traveled so far to arrive upon what would become the heartland of our grand Empire. Imperial subjects as far afield from our lands as the Republic of Biesel have held magnificent celebrations honouring our predecessors, with His Majesty’s embassy in the Republic of Biesel serving as a place of congregation for good Imperial subjects in the system that wish to honour our predecessors. Embassy security has assured our reports that, despite protests, Founding Day celebrations have continued regardless. The Imperial capitol of Nova Luxembourg has seen a grand celebration of Founding Day, with the festivities continuing well into the evening. Crown Princess Priscilla Keeser - the heir apparent - has addressed the Empire from the Imperial Palace of Moroz alongside Emperor and Empress Keeser with a rousing speech calling for unity amongst the people of the Empire on this most magnanimous of days. In a rare gesture, she extended an olive branch even to Fisanduh, which shares our grand holiday despite their unwillingness to accept the rightful rule of Moroz by the Goddess’ own Empire of Dominia, calling for the rebels to respect our mutual origins on this day. In honour of Founding Day the royal family, spearheaded by Crown Princess Priscilla, has established a significant fund for the personnel and families of personnel injured or killed in the liberation of Lakto Prime. While those that have fallen in Her name are generally honoured with the Feast of Remembrance in early August, the Crown Princess has become renowned throughout the Orion Spur for such acts of generosity. Praise the Goddess in all you do, for without Her there is no Empire.
  19. I am for the five year increase in age. Surgery is complicated in our current world, and adding multiple species into the mix is only going to make it harder. As for the complaint of "making surgeons and CMOs equal," these are the two (conceptually) most complicated jobs on the station. It's more sensible than not that they'd be a comparative age. I think the trauma physician role is bloat, and absolutely support its removal.
  20. Over the course of the past year or so I watched Derrick Mens transform from, to put it bluntly, a mediocre security officer with not much personality beyond "I'm sad" to a fully-fledged character with an arc of his own that Nope was, ultimately, able to retire and let go. They're recently branching out beyond "Sol Marine with black hair" which is, also bluntly, good despite Valeria having an anime avatar on the Relay. This application has my support, and I'm eager to see what you can do as a consular officer - arguably a role that is often neglected during the course of the round. This endorsement should be viewed as both the faith I have in you, Nope, and a vindication of my earlier - arguably hostile - attitude towards Derrick as a character. Well done. I'll still bully him ICly, though. +1
  21. Normally I go through whitelists and ask a bunch of questions. On this one I have no questions, just my support. Sherman is somebody I've seen play believable and realistic characters for a year, and they're wholly deserving of a fair shot at becoming a head of staff. Best of luck, and +1.
  22. REPUBLIC OF ELYRA REFUSES EXPORTS, SOL ALLIANCE PRICES RISE! Despite recent reports of phoron shortages from both the Republic of Biesel and the NanoTrasen Corporation the Republic of Elyra, one of the Orion Spur’s largest producers of phoron aside from the Republic of Biesel, has announced today that it is not intending to commence exporting raw phoron to the rest of the Orion Spur. Citing their use of the fuel in many of their exported products, the Republic of Elyra has long guarded their ample phoron reserves from the rest of the Orion Spur. It remains doubtful that they will export raw phoron now, due to close government controls over the resource. Outside the Republic of Biesel supply is rapidly beginning to outpace the demands of the Sol Alliance, and emergency rationing is seriously being debated to assure that its military is able to meet its phoron requirements to maintain combat readiness. Prime Minister Frost has accused the Republic of Biesel of deliberately throttling phoron supplies in order to cripple the Sol Alliance. Shortages have been noted throughout the Sol Alliance, with major member planets without bluespace gates such as New Hai Phong and Silversun reporting particular concern. The Republic of Biesel and NanoTrasen corporation have both decried the accusations of Prime Minister Frost as baseless and ridiculous, and a sign that the former Solarian naval officer has not let his dream of destroying Biesel’s liberty go. NanoTrasen stocks continue to decline in the face of a major phoron shortage, while EInstein Engines - the largest producer of non-phoron-powered warp engines - has seen its largest one-day stock price increase in a century. Stay tuned for more information regarding this ongoing shortage.
  23. These are good responses, and I appreciate that somebody finally mentioned that Konyang exists. I'm also excited to see what you do with Zeng-Hu, as it was recently a topic of discussion amongst the lore team (no spoilers). This application has my support. > he doesn't exist in 5th edition
  24. Despite your objectively horrific taste in Vampire: The Masquerade bloodlines you've been a pleasant person to interact with both on and off of the server, who can play a multitude of species and origins. You, to this day, have played the only skrell dreg I've ever seen, and you're certainly able to make memorable characters. You clearly have a mastery of the voluminous lore (and, like me, hate the tup), so really the only thing I have for you are a few questions. 1). More integration between species is extremely good, and I'm glad you brought up some examples. How are some ways in which you intend to do this with skrell? 2). Do you plan to do anything with the existing skrell/[other species] crossovers in lore such as Zeng-Hu, the moon of Moghes (Oureawhom?), the C'thur, or (god forbid) Bursa? 3). Why is your taste in VtM clans so bad like Jesus Christ I can't believe you explain yourself I look forward to your repsonses!
  25. I like it a lot. The caulk gun and associated tanks are a very, very welcome departure from the existing "green cube that heals people" and "brown cube that heals people" and I dig them a lot. Also our gauze and ointment sprites are finally getting updated from their 2004 sprites, which is extremely welcome. I look forward to seeing them and the defibrillator in-game, as spam-clicking somebody to do CPR is both annoying and carpal tunnel-inducing.
