The text really makes it sound like that might be the case anyway. And, I mean, crates in the warehouse are trapped or contain bats, etc. Why not here, too?

Even before I knew that Vulc was Ronald Monday when I antagged I was always blown away by how far he went out of his way to not kill my antag "beast modes" before they were truly rabid and had to be put down. I used to legitimately test and rate sec on their ability to read situations and Vulc's character was one of the best at actual threat detection. Not always, of course, but a solid majority of the times I played with him. That's a big +1 from me. Even though I think this might be a mistake because the player will probably not actually like command one he has it.

Agreed. It's one of the most fun parts of being a miner to find something weird or anomalous, and increases engagement between mining and xenoarcheology. I understand mining will change on the NBT, but that's a long ways away, and losing a lot of phoron has already made mining much less fulfilling, from my standpoint.

Add a search bar to the cargo ordering computer
Estoytrucha replied to Fire and Glory's topic in Archive
This would be a godsend. It would actually encourage people to use cargo more, I think, which would add to their profit margins. -
2 dismissals We need to talk about the game mode Revolution
Estoytrucha replied to Hepatica's topic in Archive
If you do this, then most of us will continue to latejoin. A great deal of players, including myself, are down to do antag roles we are comfortable with. That's why we enabled them to begin with. However, a round of SS13 is a considerable time sink and while every now and then we are willing to play outside our comfort zones, we don't actually work for the server. ESPECIALLY when we know other players are likely to be miserable or unresponsive to what we attempt. -
Or just fix transcribe rune. Please. Though I do like Canon's additions. They would prevent ICly turning off other players.

Ryog is an excellent roleplayer- While I am very, very familiar with their cargo tech character, Lyhia, their unathi is often an unknown variable to me. I trust them to play an IPC differently than they play an organic and even benefit from the whole "giving a lot less craps" about what is going on during murderbone rounds from a player perspective. However, I do want to know what 'limited neural capability' will mean in this case. Will it completely lack interpersonal skills? Either way, you have my +1, but I would like a description of anything resembling a personality because my human brain demands it.

Addendum: I feel I should also add that the new character also, in the limitted interactions I have had, made me feel uncomfortable because they were already engaged in negging of both Goolies' character and my own after less than two minutes. I know that's not a specific unathi character trait. They're not all inherently bullies.

I can back this up; I no longer feel safe just avoiding them and had initially ghosted this player completely when ooc complaints made me realize a character they were playing with abusive tendencies, that, ironically, set off my own mental health issues, was something they believed was acceptable behavior. ICly, they would, over a period of about a month, consistently show up and gaslight my primary character by playing on sympathy, negging (not allowing them to feel good about themselves but rarely- IE- consistently and low-key bullying insults, only to pepper almost-praise in a random and unpredictable manner while dominating almost all non-plot rp time and dominating the space so that other characters, who provided more consistent support and friendship, would avoid both of them and my character would have to rely on them for almost all support), and changing their backstories and motivations. And, when called out on this sort of behavior, they would cry both ICly and OOCly that everyone was being unfair. They took advantage of being the only other trans character I had encountered and played on my sympathies in both cases initially, and I supplied them with attention. As a player, I was led to believe all unathi were psychopaths by his auto-kah and guwan characters and just thought it was a skilled rp bit until the dog incident. Although, the constant shifting of character backstory, motivation, and complete disregard for self-antagging rules was a tad... unsettling? As a character, Taika did not have many boundaries, but animal abuse directly in front of them had always been a no-no. In the early days, when Shaegaar was still in the "honeymoon" phase, they agreed ic to not be a dick. They would ask for a monkey cube and do things off screen, as you did, and there was no issue. However, under the pretenses of being an adict and "mistreated", they brought another character's named Corgi in and proceeded to eat it in front of Taika after a long line of uncomfortable, vaguely sexually advancy behavior on both them and their friends, up to and including manipulating them into lying about how they felt and hurting themselves to get other characters to seek them out. When told eating pets was not acceptable, they agreed to make it canon even though it was an antagged round simply because they stood behind the action because they were 'treated poorly by revs' and 'in drug withdrawal'. They played it as they were perfectly justified in /kidnapping and eating another player's pet/ as a non-antag as a justifiable action and one no one should reproach them for, and I suddenly realized- this was a self-insert, and they were willing to die on this hill. Toxic IC and OOC are separate things, yes, but I reached out to other players and found far more disturbing stories and I'm happy I ghosted Shaegaar when I did. I hope they post their experiences here. Additionally, I have more stories and individual instances of them being just creepy enough to ping my 30-year-old, traumatized ass's predator senses, but I don't wish to go down that rabbithole because this is supposed to be a hobby and I only discovered the snip tool in the last month. Just... someone at least keep tabs on this player when you can.

I also don't know what more you would want to accomplish with the character. As far as being an asshole and being messed with for it- He wasn't on track to get better, and cloning wouldn't probably help the issues that led him to kill himself in the first place. The rub is that we would be ressing the character just to kill him again...

A Horrible Mistake - Ventii Seeks the Office
Estoytrucha replied to Ventii's topic in Whitelist Applications Archives
I'm mad this means they're going to be playing their other characters less, but this roleplayer is excellent. Give them a hug and a +1. -
I also want to know about how many characters will need to be remade. Since the Aurora wasn't a ship, we have cultivated the ideas of homes off-base, as it were. Also, the low-skilled laborers might have less incentive to be on the vessel? I'd be sad if I had to scrap my mining child outright, though I am excited to see the new maps.

I know this is old, but please let Vrow have this if it hasn't been delivered. They are, hands-down, one of the most dedicated med players and deserve nice things.

I really dislike the idea. I think rp could be better with just.. more people doing it. There ARE extended rounds, and we vote for a reason...

Taika's player here. Yeah, most of this was being an antag with a pretty persuasive cortical borer. However, that being said, this really looked like a game of telephone gone bad at every corner. I don't know if Val was the weakest link, but somehow everything got out of order to such an extent the cortical borer brought me info I didn't see, but I trusted OOCLY because: 1. I know I get shit for this, and I'm not trying to use it as a crutch, but I'm legally blind. It does effect my situational awareness. I just do my best. 2. Taika did admit to attacking Preston, but tried to play off being in the right. So, depending where they entered that convo, Val would have had a very different impression. It didn't turn violent however. At least, no more than a high school cafeteria argument.
