  1. Okay so, afew things right off the bat, your statements here contradict almost all of the feedback I've had (And seen) with the new changes. Except the confusion part. Reverting back to revolutionary/loyalist won't fix this. Here's why: When they were named Loyalists/Revolutionaries, it lead to two things, the Loyalists recruiting in broad daylight with no care in the world, including the Captain/HoS and most of the Command Staff, and then the Revolutionaries not being able to recruit in public at all. Then they would get shut down violently and without a fighting chance at all. This is because the 'Loyalists' as a name makes them seem to be For NanoTrasen, and is instantly less suspicious to Security or anyone. When you see 'You're invited to the Loyalists!' you don't think 'This corrupt book club is trying to turn me against NanoTrasen regulations!' you think 'This bookclub is trying to uphold NanoTrasen regulations!' And when you see 'You're invited to the Revolutionaries!' you don't think 'They're fighting for what's right' you think 'They're trying to cause chaos and go against NanoTrasen regulations!', this puts them on uneven ground from the absolute start. If they were reverted back to the old names, the flavor would cause people to really do the same thing except worse. I haven't actually seen a big fuss on the Discord recently, it all stopped around the time that I reworked the mode to the way it is. The main issue rn is that people aren't doing what I intended with the mode (Which is in the antagonist info provided to them), the contenders are meant to contend with the fellowship, the fellowship is meant to create the gimmick, and the contenders just oppose it, some say it works extremely well, others are saying it doesn't. Now, REMOVING Revolutionary, this part gets more nuanced but still I don't think it's really something we should consider. Removing revolutionary would lead to different modes being selected more often than not. But at the cost of literally our shrinking gamemode base. We removed Malf and removing Rev right after isn't going to help the repetition of other modes. Instead of removing Rev, I'd suggest you post here in my feedback thread for the mode and help me find ways to make it more exciting/improve the names/etc. One thing that'd help right off the bat is if the wiki had their pages updated, which they aren't rn. Reverting tho will only make the mode worse, it won't improve it. This was a problem before but 10x worse.
  2. Burrito was potentially the best wiki maintainer I've ever accepted when I was wiki lead, I trust them immensely and I think it'd be great to see them working with the wiki again -- Even if they wouldn't be working with me this time.
  3. It might be an option if we want to make the surgeon less of a super doctor to give them more restrictions from the non-surgical equipment, such as the medical storages and the like. The same places I assume Chemist also has no access to? Also, medical resident is a massive real life parallel, intern isn't. If we want to avoid arguments about the real life profession we shouldn't keep resident.
  4. To replace the specialist roles, maybe 'Medical Specialist' to 'Medical Physician'. 'Surgical Specialists' to 'Surgical Physician' 'Mental Health Specialist' to 'Psychiatrist'?
  5. As of a previous PR, revolution has had a full reflavor and a few changes. You can see the PR here: The changes as done in the PR are: The 'Revolutionaries' were renamed to -- The 'Contenders', They're more or less the same as the revs used to be, except they're flavored to be much less antagonistic to the Crew, now with their name title and presentation it should be a lot easier to recruit Crew to the team. The 'Loyalists' were renamed to -- The 'Fellowship', The Fellowship now gets access to the old Rev uplink, and they can no longer recruit mindshielded persons. They don't get a head by default in their team, either. These things put them on equal ground with the Contenders which should make neither of the two absolutely eclipse the other. This serves to put the two teams on equal grounds and make for more open-ended rounds I hope, it should also fix the things that I see wrong with the mode, suggestions are welcome but reminder that I'm a fledgling coder so whatever you suggest can't be so complex or I'll likely not be able to implement it On the upcoming rounds be sure to give me your feedback, I may make tweaks and stuff but just try to be conscious of how difficult your idea is to code, because if it's too difficult it might be beyond my skill range rn. ______________ How is it holding up months later? I've received conflicting reports from people playing it, some say they love it, some say it's confusing and the renames mislead them. But all people are saying that the mode doesn't lead to Security/Command controlling the Station every round like it used to, or the 'revs' being hunted down mercilessly by Security, so that's good. If we have better ideas for new names for the teams, that's fine, but I'm not so open to returning them to revolutionaries/loyalists, as it was almost always entirely lopsided that way.   7. I have to do that thing that I do sometimes where I disappear for a little while, tragedy struck and all of that life junk. And I'm not really sure if I can keep my composure as well as I usually do if I stay on Aurora rn.

  8. - Medical Intern/Orderly (This seems fine to me, but resident could probably be just thrown out entirely, too much of a real world parallel, maybe if there is an alt-title it should be orderly instead, since intern is basically saying you're training for something, and an orderly is just an extra hand.) - Medical Specialist (Combination of Physician/TP/Nurse) (This was proposed by another person, and it does seem to fit to me, instead of MD's, doctors in our setting could have MS's (Medical Specialties) which are accreditations and depart heavily from the real world.) - Surgical Specialist (This is clear and to the point, could also be an MS.) - Psych Specialist (This is probably a better idea than mental health researcher and includes that kinda stuff.) - Biomedical Chemist/Chemist (This I don't know how to fix...) - Emergency/Triage Respondant (EMT, Triage is a well known word but isn't as well known as Emergency in that sense, this should make it different enough from the real world EMT/Paramed services that noone conflates it too much.) This is the best I can do to come up with ideas wise and since it's still all within the biologistics department, it's already clear they're all biologists, again. This also corporatifies all of the roles, any other ideas? Alternatively, I like literally all of the burningshermans ideas.

  10. I'd like to point out, that if we go the 'Biologistics' route for medical, we have no need for naming the other roles as biologists, so we can be more creative. At that point, it's just redundant to name them that way, since if you're in the 'Biologistics' department, it's already clear you're a biologist to anyone looking at the department list and seeing your job there. In reverse, I'd say keep the department rename, and name the jobs something more clear to what they're meant to do. To figure out these jobs, we need to spitball. You need to make this thread move past the arguments for why phase as they're all here already, and encourage people to come up with new names for the jobs. You will go in circles if you keep going on like this.

  13. This is fair. This is not, it's not a slippery slope, you need a better argument than X was done so C can also be done. (Make a suggestion thread/PR with a convincing proposal like I did) When it comes to attaching a mechanical arm/leg/etc to nerves + muscle in the associated limb, I'd say being v. educated in human musculature is p. darn important so this is a non-point too. Also, I agree these new restrictions are too extreme. Surgeon being able to do everything and not being limited from anything is crazy.
  14. I kinda like the cinematic that plays when it explodes, but it really has no purpose aside from ending rounds past that.

Hello, I don't review whitelist apps often mostly because I make it a point to not review an app unless I have the whitelist, but this is a neat case where I do have the whitelist actually and also I really like it. ? In the Twilight phase, I really like the way that Shining is all Nymph-like and animalistic and basically the Crew is trying their best to just ignore they're around/push them out of mind, and shining is just doing his thing as a Nymph right up until he gets on their ship and hitches a ride. I also like the purpose of the facility (To research Diona) that eventually went bankrupt and died, and the legacy it left behind (A group of Diona like Shining) The Terror Phase is also v. cool because it plays off of the theme in Dionae that they're a novelty in a lot of areas, I could see a pirate crew finding one in an extremely human dominated area where not many Xenos are around, capturing them and trying to pawn them off/etc. Taniola (The rich Eridanian CEO/gambler) playing poker with unsavory groups competitively for thrills is also a really great addition which plays off of the highluxury nightlife of a faction like Eridani too. Overall I'm just a big fan of this background, +1 ?
  16. Seems to be lightly inspired by the HD-MAD 'borg sprite head which has a cyclops eye in the center of it in the same way. ? It makes sense since the HD-MAD 'borg sprite head/eyes were heavily created to be v. similar to the G1 cylon eyes.

  18. I'm p. sure this is super simple and already exists for other things? But I'm not positive. I seem to recall a 'put on top' verb already existing if you rightclick for other items.
  19. I love this and it reminds me of what the SSTA (Synthetic Sentient Theory and Application) and the Spark Theorem which used to be really big things in Synth' lore. I think this'd work really well especially if the current 'Synthetic Intelligence front' thingo, the one with the armband, was folded into it. I think it'd also be really cool if the majority of the members and/or funding was gathered from the Trinary Perfection
  20. As of now, this is merged, side effects will be coded in at a later time, and also the full new lore descriptions *may* find themselves on the wiki in a non-invasive way in the near future too.
  21. Bumping this. I'd say removing rats as a playable role (by itself) and merging it into a general playable pest event that includes the other pests too is a solid idea that will make rats/yithians/etc more used and valued in rounds. Due to how rare it would be to play one, people would put more effort into playing one properly, etc.

As of now the PR is in its final form, I'll add side effects in a later PR to each of the new drugs, and their descriptions are improved like 10fold, the people who were worried about a basis should really read them, they're amazing. The PR is up for review and it's just awaiting the devs/etc.
  25. The credit so far doesn't go to me but thank you, there are lot of medical players helping me expand everything rn. ? And I could, the descriptions/names could go in first and then the effects after.
