It's well known I love and like to play Vaurca. They have interesting, deep lore and the Ta are no exception to this. Of course, I play a Ta consular, too. It's not a role for every round, of course, but I have never had a single bad round as Ta. They are special, even for consulars. They can interact with any crew, basically, regardless of their species. Other consulars often can only best interact with X species or Y faction. The fact that this does not apply for the Ta is honestly great, since you are never bored playing it.
This comes from different reasons. They not only represent the Zo'ra hive, but the Biesel government, so everyone who works on the station has at least some business with the Republic. Second, their appearance. It was proposed to change it and make it more "streamlined" but I honestly don't know why that has to be. There are little issues with sprites or stuff being misaligned, you don't physically interact much with items or, behold, weapons anyway. Their unique appearance gives opportunity. Opportunity to interact with people. A conversation can spark from the single reason that they do NOT look normally. The fact that some people propose, that the GIGANTIC LITERAL BUG MUM FROM OUTER SPACE should be more human-like or mask it's appearance is silly to me. People want aliens - but please, don't look like aliens, or what? Their appearance, including the sprite is perfectly fine and in line with lore and aesthethics.
You are able to approach nearly anyone on the station, still pursue your own interests and goals. You have a lot of things you can talk or RP about with others, the lore is there. To me, the Ta representative is maybe even the best of them all. They are great and should absolutely stay.
