  8. This is a whole lot of words to say nothing at all. Roleplay, in a roleplay server in SS13, stems mainly from character conflict. Extended is fun as a novelty, not as a continuous event.
  9. I'm going to wait for you to mention this magical solution, because there isn't. This is the best way to get people to play antags and there are no two ways about it. Not every solution is perfect and this is the best compromise you can get.
  10. You're making an assumption that this antagonist quality is a byproduct of the current system instead of being the usual. You'd be wrong. Most of these issues were a problem consistently from 2017, in my experience. It was only less noticeable recently because we had no antagonist players at all. Removing the draft is counterproductive. As unfortunate as it is that I have to say it - and your post proves it - on HRP servers, people must be forced to be dealt a bad hand and play antags every now and then to make the antag pool expand. Since, otherwise, almost nobody will play antagonist.

  13. Hello. I come to you in these trying times with the promise of an armor rework and the question of how to do it. Currently, our armor system is very binary. It either blocks half the damage or does nothing. Pretty bad, right? That's why I want to rework it. However, the question is how. How should new armor behave? I've thought up two reasonable alternatives. In both cases armor will decided by the plates you put into a carrier. 1. The plates have a durability system, so to speak: shooting a ceramic plate a bunch (number of exact shots TBA) will break it, and it will no longer be as effective. Think a 75% to 100% reduction on its effectiveness. While your plates are working fine, they'll deduct a % from shots that hit your armour. For example, a plate with 100% health and 70% bullet damage reduction will deduct a solid 70% from all bullets. A plate at 50% health will deduct a solid 35% (50% of 75%) from shots that hit you. I have ideas for how to handle mercenary armor/voidsuits/rigsuits and such, so that will not be a problem. 2. Armor will just deduct a solid % based on its armor values. Nothing more, nothing less. This will come with some adjustments such as making exponentially smaller damage be ineffective. I am now asking you to help me decide which system I'll have to go for. Go nuts in the comements.

  16. For all intents and purposes I do not give a single shit about tanks being unreasonable to have on a station if someone PRs readding the tank.

  19. Captain is a pretty contested slot. Many that would like to play captain simply don't because the slot is always taken by them. We had a similiar issue with a certain HoS a few months ago, who would be on for... basically 12 hours at a time. Once they stop playing captain the numbers will rise.
  20. This is quite possible and easy to code. Would have to wait until landmark shuttles are in however.
