  1. First time i saw black kois i was my Vaurca officer, Crono, and someone tried to tell me they saw a black hole in holodeck
  2. There have been plenty of times where I, a Vaurca, should have ABSOLUTELY bled out but just kinda didnt, then again there are times where a single laser killed me. I still support this though as I have walked away from far too many situations just fine after medical pumped me full of drugs in about 30 seconds.
  3. As much as I love playing sec antag as Crono, I agree with this due to the fact that I know it pisses everyone else off. there was one round where 3/4 officers were traitors, we just raided the vault and left the cap, cadet, single officer, and HoS deal with it, and that was before I threw a manhack grenade and disabled them for some time. Thye couldn't even attempt an assault from being so undermanned as we had already raided the armory as well. I say don't completely eliminate sectags but do lower the chances.
  4. So, Changelings are arguably the dumbest antagonist on the station currently IMO for multiple reasons. The chief among these, again IMO, is that almost if not all of the ling's abilities revolve around combat. There is nothing that these abilities do that can lead to some sort of RP that doesn't involve shooting. Armblade tends to give sec trigger fingers, Abomination gets shot almost immediately, and the stings are never really noticed by more than one person depending on the sting. My suggestion to fix this is in the title, Body Horror! Now, what the hell do I meant by that? Body Horror is when a creature does something incredibly grotesque, like splitting their face in half, to scare those around it. In-game I imagine the changeling having this ability to do the same thing. Though this ability would not have any practical uses other than that, which I feel would encourage more RP that doesn't involve a robustofest. Now sure, you could simply /me these things, but that kinda depends on other people to notice and use thier imagination, and having it actually happen in game would make it more reactable then looking at some blank sprite face that is supposedly bleeding from every orifice according to chat. It would be something simple like blood showing up on the sprites face with red text describing what is happening. At the very least, this gives changelings a few glory moments before being gunned down, and at best can drive a new range of RP, including autopsies and the like, as I am sure science is curious as to what kind of creature splits its head in half on command. Though autopsies like that do happen, it is pretty damn rare. Imagine catching someone's doppelganger in a corner as sec, or seeing both of them in a hallway in medbay with everyone watching, and then seeing one of them have their eyeballs leave their head on tendrils, it would shock anyone in the room and most likely have everyone involved screaming for their lives over general. I feel this is a necessary addition as, again, the Ling has basically nothing like this and has mostly combat abilities that are very hard to have any real RP with without either getting shot or people immediately running away due to knowing what that armblade is and what you plan on doing with it OOCly. At the least most people would read the red text and say something before booking it down the hallway. This is my first suggestion so if it seems lackluster that's why btw.
  5. Wizards are bad enough without being able to steal sec's weapons from their bags tbh. A neat idea though.
  6. In the event that one guy can't put two and two together I imagine it is to prevent mass infection before people actually notice. As people who know there is a virus will be more wary than if there was no announcement
  7. Shane came diving over the bar counter after the HoP tried to beat him saying “PROTECT ME BARMAN” 10/10 would threaten him with a shotgun again +1 I think he’d be fine as a head
  8. This is the feedback thread for Za'akaix'Crono Zo'ra Tell me how good/bad i am at being the bugman
  9. Well in that case whoever that was needs to lose their whitelist. Ta are NOT supposed to get i to anything violent or put themselves in harm’s way. That was straight failrp
  10. As a vaurca player, the Ta tend to provide extra RP in a variety of situations. They can be a counselor or advisor or you could run errands for them. For example, My Zo’ra officer, Crono, tends to be a bodyguard like role to a Ta when all the officer slots are full, and every Ta I have seen thus far has done an exemplary job at roleplaying and conversing with various crewmembers.Sometimes a Ta settles disputes between hive members, acting as a sort of negotiator. Sometimes they provide guidance to vaurca suffering under things like racism, other times they just want to have some k’ois jelly with you. I believe that the Ta have no real negative effect on the server, thus removing them has no point. On the subject of their looks, they are just that, looks. You will not see a Ta do labor or fighting a threat, they instead delegate that to a Ka or Za respectively. They are a mostly RP role and for the most part and can only add on to the RP of the Vaurca species. Although I can see why other species may not want gigantic bug mom’s running around the place. Maybe a remodel would do them good
  11. Vaurca breathe flammable gas so this is a very good point in the first part. The Ion does need a nerf as well
  12. You were given the uniform and I distinctly remember you throwing the headset into my face instead of handing it over, you could have easily taken off the uniform and kept it with you but you refused and thus it was taken.
  13. To be fair, you also talked a fair amount of shit about various staff and neglected orders multiple times, on top of battery (I was Za’Akaix’Crono Zo’ra
  14. I am usually fine with my phoron, that was moreso saying if you switch masks and cant tell or if those new to the species run out
  15. While I like the look of the new shielf I do agree that it completely borks the artstyle, but I think just going back to the old shields is better.
  16. I agree with this as i agree poison should be on a delay, but I disagree that toxloss should be a delay on the Health hud as Vaurca players like me may not notice that we just ran out of phoron or inhaled oxygen until it is too late, especially those new to the species. Subtle cues such as stomach cramps would make sense as well.
  17. I feel like this is bc of last night’s shock drones, and I completely agree
  18. BYOND Key: (byond key) Roostercat12 Character Names: (character name) Riley Crixx - Bartender Emerald With Zen (Diona) - Xenobotanist Aaron Whirlow - Forensic Technician Derek Williams - Surgeon Osmund Bedford - Used when I want to play AI or Borg at roundstart, otherwise Cargo Tech Species you are applying to play: (species name) Vaurca What color do you plan on making your first alien character: (Color of your character; Dionaea & IPCs exempt) RGB 61, 0 , 0 Have you read our lore section's page on this species?: Y Please provide well articulated answers to the following questions in a paragraph format. One paragraph minimum per question. Why do you wish to play this specific race: (One paragraph minimum) I see the Vaurca as one of the most, if not THE most, interesting species on the server for a multitude of reasons. Firstly, they follow what is essentially a hivemind, Which I find fascinating as it can open up opportunities for RP when faced with another Hive member, Such as communicating over the Hivemind when faced with a problem while the two of you are separated. Secondly, I like the fact that they specialize in ways, With workers being used for, well, labor and research and things along those lines, and soldiers handling most defensive duties. I enjoy and admire the fact that the two are not a simple title difference, but actually different biologically. As well as the noticeable gameplay differences between the two types ( Not counting the breeder). Third, I have spent a good deal of time looking over the lore on the wiki and find it interesting how the hives interact with one another, along with the shortcomings of each one and the advancements of another. I also find the Idea of VR Paradise to be a very interesting Idea that threw me off at first. All of these things combined make me feel it could be a very interesting race to play with as their behavior can be a multitude of things. Identify what makes role-playing this species different than role-playing a Human: (One Paragraph minimum) Aside from things like EVA capability, the fact that warriors can bite and take less damage ( workers dealing with radiation better as a tradeoff for no biting), And the fact that they bleed a bit more than humans, I like the fact that they have a unique speech Impediment that can VERY MUCH affect how you interact with the crew, with un-augmented Vaurca having some difficulty making S and PH noises as this means you may have to take a different approach to communication, such as trying to veer away from S,P, and H heavy sentences. They are also highly discriminated against, which although negative, can still lead to some interesting RP situations down the line such as bigotry and general Racism, which I believe, IF DONE RIGHT, can be interesting for all parties involved. They are also a bit more specialized than humans, with Bound Vaurca very rarely allowing themselves to deviate from a given task to the relative Independent thinking of the Unbound. Both of which can affect the kind of job you are permitted into. They are also barred from Heads of Staff. Character Name:(Character name) Ka'Akaix'Krik' Zo'ra Please provide a short backstory for this character (Approximately two paragraphs) Ka'Akaix'Krik' Zo'ra was born very similarly to most other Unbound, it's egg was handled with more care by the Bound workers in the hive than what would normally be used with Bound eggs, and Ka'Akaix'Krik' Zo'ra was born with fully developed organs, although sterile. He went through the first 6 months of life before being implanted with the Neural Socket and experiencing VR for the first time, which lasted a couple of days. As with most Unbound after this change, Ka'Akaix'Krik' Zo'ra Really disliked being outside of VR, but recognized his Queen, of which being Vaur'skiyet'sca, needed him to fulfill a job, not personally of course, but Ka'Akaix'Krik' Zo'ra was destined to work outside of District 9 as an agreement with a corporation known as Nanotrasen. Which he had no problem with, as he saw it as an opportunity to leave the confines of the planet and explore his surroundings, as well as slightly better living conditions. After implantation Ka'Akaix'Krik' Zo'ra wentrough training in VR for the job Nanotrasen wanted him to do, which after some consideration, ended up being a Xenobiologist. The corporation wanted a Vaurca Xenobiologist because they recognized that Unbound Vaurca can both be suited for the role nicely, and be paid less than the average human. He went through countless simulations of a lab in which he conducted work on various lifeforms, the pertinent one being slimes. This training period went on for some time before Ka'Akaix'Krik' Zo'ra was finally discharged from the VR training program and set to ship off to a facility in Tau Ceti, a system the hive dealt with normally, as well as being the location contact was first made with a Vaurca hiveship. Ka'Akaix'Krik' Zo'ra was set to leave in about 2 days, most of which he spent in VR re-doing simulations, just to be sure he can do the job right. Before thoselast few hours flew by as he was suddenly on a shuttle zipping threw space on a beeline to the Aurora... What do you like about this character? (Describe what you like about this character) I enjoy how the character was made for a sole purpose, Just like most other Vaurca, and followed the same routine as other Unbound Vaurca for the first six to seven months of life, As I see the Vaurca as more of a collective during that time than as individuals I feel it fits the character well. The character's story pertaining to Nanotrasen is something I also find interesting as I took elements from the lore, Such as discrimination and being able to pay the Vaurca less, How Vaur's brood often dealt with corporations, one of the reasons it is the most powerful hive. and how the Unbound are usually the more Intelligent and free thinking kind of Vaurca compared to Bound workers, and integrated that into the character. How would you rate your role-playing ability? 7/10 Above average, I am capable of starting situations everyone can have fun with, although I tend to prefer following what other people have started. I have plenty of experience with HRP and have been with the server for over a year and a half. Notes: You spelled Approximately wrong in the format ( I fixed it in this app)
  19. BYOND Key: Roostercat12 Character Names: Riley Crixx, Aaron Whirlow, Derek Williams Species you are applying to play: Dionae What color do you plan on making your first alien character (Dionaea & IPCs exempt): Have you read our lore section's page on this species?: Yes. Please provide well articulated answers to the following questions in a paragraph format. One paragraph minimum per question Why do you wish to play this specific race: I wish to play as this race because I want to have a different roleplay experience as a different race. Simply changing races can make your experience that much different, Aspects like racism, different mechanics, and restricted jobs can change everything about a character and what they do on the station. Identify what makes role-playing this species different than role-playing a Human: Roleplaying as a Dionae can vary very much depending on the situation. For example, Dionae are slow, VERY slow. This makes escaping a threat that much harder. basic annoyances, like the lights going out, can be life threatening for a Dionae that is far away from any other sources of light. Plus any particularly troublesome crew members may harass you, or start smashing lights to mess with you. Plus they are legally confusing, I have seen arguments happen over where a Dionae is considered an animal, or an actual Individual. Character Name: Emerald with Zen Please provide a short backstory for this character, approximately 2 paragraphs Emerald with Zen was spawned some time ago in the form of several Nymphs. Over a short time, These Nymphs would join together to create one creature of a humanoid design, with an Emerald caught in the middle. The newly formed Dionae wandered around the planet it was created on for days, weeks even. Until something strange occurred. The sun stopped supplying energy, a great mass enveloped the ball of light, quickly covering the Dionae in a blanket of darkness. Losing energy, Emerald stumbled as fast as it could, but simply could not outrun the darkness. Then another strange thing occurred, a sparkle of light, from inside a mass of metal. Emerald shambled with all it's might and finally reached the light, that came from the flashlight of a creature known as a Skrell. Emerald was met with great confusion and panic, and was almost shot by the Expedition force. Once the explorers finally realized what Emerald actually was, They began talking to it, trying to calm the group of Nymphs down. Of course, since Emerald had never encountered any other sentient race previously, it had no idea what they were saying. After Emerald figured out that the Skrell meant no harm, it settled down next to the flashlight, and listened. It quickly learned the Skrellian language over the next couple of days as the eclipse ended. However, there were problems that arose while they were huddled in the fallen ship. Nocturnal creatures had attempted time and again to feast on the explorers, and while the group had laser rifles, eventually they ran out of charge. Emerald came to the rescue, as it had the bright idea to use a metal coil and a salvaged power cell to recharge the weapons. . He grabbed the coil with one hand, a gun in the other, while the crew Used the power cell to transfer energy to the coil. The energy surged through Emerald as the gun received bolts of energy, recharging them. After the eclipse came to a close, the explorers brought Emerald back to the research station in orbit around the planet. And there he was offered a position on a distant station, as NanoTrasen wanted his services, seeing the potential in his Intelligence. What do you like about this character? I like the fact that he used his wits alone to find a way to solve a very dangerous problem. I also enjoy how he ended up meeting another sentient race, by almost dying in the darkeness in the midst of a Solar eclipse. These experiences could make interesting experiences to bring up in Normal conversation. And could make RP that much more interesting on the station, both for me and others. How would you rate your role-playing ability? 5/10, I can make some interesting Rp situations, but most of the Time I prefer to follow what other people started. Notes:
