  1. Helloa~ I'll be taking this. Give me a day or two to do the log dive. Couple of points first though: The rules are pretty clear on this. Don't mess with SSD folks. From what I read so far, you did some excellent team work with the antags, which is a good thing to do. Although escalation requires two sides usually. A good example would be a merc rush. You can blow up the station within minutes if your sole goal is to nuke the place. It would take a good amount of teamwork and make for a fun round for at least four people. Still be a gank on the entire station though, because they did not get any interaction prior to their deaths ^^ I hope you see where this is going. Saying hello to the cadet and telling him to run would probably have made his round a lot more fun ? I will post more once I done the log dive
  2. Doe he keep a cool head: Oliver Roadman Does he meme: Automated Engine Technici Does he fire people left and right: Elim Castel Ah yes, a perfect fit ? No really, the one who got me into the game by reaching out a hand to the baldest of the bald. A dream of a community member who stills makes me laugh even when the heist on PayDay 2 gets reset for the 30th time. Think he'll be a great fit. Has been looking for a way to help out the server for a while now and stuck to IC means, which he does in a great way. There was a moment when Roadman realized that the CEs of today are thought by the people who got thought by the people he thought ^^
  3. Ah yes, Neith... too many situations I sadly did not screenshot
  4. A couple points and questions before we dive deeper into this. You can make a staff complaint against Resylinn, they are considered staff and as such their conduct can be questioned and investigated by other staff members. A few extras apply though since Resylinn is CCIA and not part of the Modmin team. Which means that she cannot and will not handle complaints in any shape or form. She is however free to defend herself as the accused party. Now let's get a bit into the details here, the situation was handled by ReadThisNamePlease. If you do not agree with how the situation handled the staff complaint should be against the staff member who handled it. If the issue is with their conduct as a head of staff whitelist holder, this complaint should be handled by the team responsible for said whitelist and posted in the player complaint, since it does not have much to do with her conduct as a staff member. If the issue is with her representation of the staff position or general conduct OOCly and you want us to investigate into that (that's how I understand this complaint so far) than the category of staff complaint applies. That being said we have a hard rule against posting complaints while the round is still going on. I hope this clears things up a little. If the desire to look into Resylinns behavior OOCly exists and you have images and rounds that we can use to determin whether or not it is acceptable please let us know. The round in question is still going on, so I have not pulled and done a logdive here, but from the pictures it does not seem like our code of conduct was in any way broken.

    Ask a mod/admin!

To add onto Prate: Can you spawn us a tank, is my favourite merc sentence... sure, we always do, every time ^^ Randy: Hewwo! I am new admin, relative new to game and in the staff team probably one of the newest (ckey age is less than a year old). It's a mixed bag, some rounds you see awesome gimmiks and help make them happen, help a bunch of new folks with mechanics and bugs and have a blast of a round... next round it's cult and you get 4 ahelps at roundstart "How to cult?" and you know you are in for one of those rounds. Overall my joy of the game has not suffered, but there's two things that get my pulse up: Rude folks in ahelps (I send those to the forums, I don't want any trial staff to have to experience that) and annoying ahelpers who want a different useless item each and every round, bikehorns being a good example or violins. Same happens with prayers from time to time, hence my motto: Spaming prayer is how you lose prayer Seeing behind the veil... well I slowly get some grasps on how things work in the code, but I am still pretty much an idiot with more buttons. I distinctly remember having to delete a stretcher that flew off into space, while the person on it was stuck in the spot... so I used my Bluespace tech to throw that person into space I am helpfull like that ^^ for spawns and variables you usually have your stuff that you know how to do and other things that you have to ask for and prepare. I do some small scale stuff on lowpop like a ghost appearing during extendo to spice things up or changing an expedition map to give it a bit of an story, but it's far from what one could consider understanding the code. Logs are a different story for each and every staff member. Sometimes you drown in them, sometimes it makes you laugh how "calm" a round is perceived while on the other hand a captain just got his face melted off. It takes some time getting used to, some adjustments in playstyle (you usually go with a gimmik as staff, even if you got the meta knowledge that it might suck balls and will only get you killed in maint... again) and the skillful ignorance of deadchat ^^
  6. Hmm. I am not sure yet how to shorten the name. Might go with a version of Voices amidst Ashes and put the full one in the records (specify that it was shortened when moving to tau ceti due to citizenship rules or just outright saying that the NT IDs do not support the full name), but I'm open to suggestions here, maybe this has been handled in one way or another before @Yonnimer?
  7. BYOND Key: Cnaym Character Names: Most known currently: Akki Guwan (Officer / Cheff), Emilia Roth (GOOD Nurse), Kim (Librarian), Optikam Rin (Cargo Tech), Mahashik Ilasi (Engineer), Spike Barnes (Engineer) Species you are applying to play: Dionae What color do you plan on making your first alien character: Dionae colored, duh Have you read our lore section's page on this species?: Yus Please provide well articulated answers to the following questions in a paragraph format. One paragraph minimum per question. Why do you wish to play this specific race: I enjoyed Auger my G2 miner a ton, it slowed down gameplay and was generally my first attempt at being a dionae "lite" since it's speech was similar to how dionae spoke at the time... which was a while ago, so not many may remember him anyway. When I started out there were no dionae around and Xelnagahunter and Yonni introduced me to this amazing species ICly. I remember giving enough of a tipp for Choir to buy a car (it was hilarious to hear that the dionae spend the credits on a car at the time) and I've been listening to Xelnagas dionae with almost every character I ever made, spending a couple of discussions about their nature with different characters and roles. I enjoy the deep and thoughtful conversations, that are lighthearted from the perspective of immortality. That can be summarized as the main reason why I want to try my hands at this species: To watch the whole world burn spectate mortality from an outsiders perspective and debate concepts like spirituality and the self with the other species. Identify what makes role-playing this species different than role-playing a Human: The mechanics, obviously, but mostly the concepts. A human will be in it for themself, for another or for a group / faith. The dionae are always in it for the experience or the memory of the event. Be that the nymphs that make their first steps towards learning about a species, the bypedal gestalt finally finding their spot in society or on an even larger scale going so far as to consume entire stations. Character Name: Voices of Reason amidst the Ashes of War. Please provide a short backstory for this character The nymphs that make up this gestalt changed owner as many things do in a tavern run by clan Vihnmes. A bargain for their owner, they helped with the simple task of entertaining guests and were seen as pets by most visitors the the bar itself. Living of the scraps, the nymphs slowly learned more and more about the civilisation they found themselves in. After a not so peaceful trade dispute was settled via bloodshed the nymphs retreated to the relative safety of the bar counter and emerged as a cyclops a couple hours later. With this a new life began for the dionae. It learned the way of clan Vihnmes, surviving with a silver tongue instead of brute force it surely made for an interesting sight to weary travelers who engaged in long talks with it, until one day it was picked up by a traveling teacher from one of the IAC schools build in a nearby settlement and started learning more about the universe at large. Their goal became to experience it all, if not through it's own senses than through the stories left behind by those who did experience it and when the teacher left the planetside to return to tau ceti the dionae joined him to experience and learn even more. What it figured out quickly were two things: Every species fights and all of them mourn the dead. The dionae, growing up within a clan of merchants and diplomats knew that all it takes to bring about change is patience, time and an idea that will last. Granted the idea was not yet graspable for the dionae, nor was there a big chance to figure out a system in which fighting would become redundant, but what else does a young dionae have to offer the universe if not time and patience. It took a long time to find a job that would fit it's desires and skills, but finally signed up with NanoTrassen as a helper in a local library. Staying out of trouble, talking to guests and remembering the vast information that a library holds was only natural to it and when a chance to move upward and take care of it's own library aboard the NSS Aurora displayed itself the dionae took it almost instantly. What do you like about this character? Been pushing this app by just a couple of days for a long time, because I did not come up with a concept that I'd enjoy. I had a librarian before that was well received (Kim) but who as a robot lacked the "oxford manners", which is roughly the concept of playing with and entertaining ideas. I'd love to entertain and RP this in character more and think that the platform of dionae is perfect for that. Highly intelligent, yet not trained or specialized... almost drifting through life on the basis of raw knowledge that may never be applied but nonetheless has to be kept, treasured and discussed is what makes this a great character for me. How would you rate your role-playing ability? 9/10 Am immersed, am consistent, am robust. Why do I specify robust as part of the RP? Because knowledge of the games mechanics brings a peace of mind that let's you focus on the real important part of the game: Roleplay. Notes: Hit me with questions, don't be scared to give negative feedback. We are here to have fun and improve. I hope I have displayed this goal ICly and OOCly in my time on the server.
  8. Found this gem under a picture on the Skrell wiki page: "Skrell often try to one-up others to try and gain more prestige and fame: However it is still seen as co-operative to compete." and think it fits perfectly to Leudo. He one ups himself if there is no competition and has been providing constantly good RP since I first met 'em. Been supporting their whitelist apps so far and not once was I let down. Now I am totaly not an expert on Skrell, but the app shows me that they spend their time studying the wiki page and learned a lot about them before posting the app. Solid +1 from my side. Let 'em warble
  9. Completely agree with Paradox here, it seems like every officer is also able to do every other job, which is hilarious when it plays out ingame. It's not that we have 4 Officers, 2FT/D and a Warden.. we frequently have 6.5 Officers which is really annoying to deal with as antag or staff. I get that the qualifications are low, but no employee would be allowed to fly all over the department like that. It either means they know it all, or you don't need to know a thing for any of those jobs.
  10. Think it was your first RD round, but putting together an expedition team of around 8 people and losing nobody on the infamous death hulk shows what level of leadership we are talking about. He had a solid planing, constant overview and moving between the people asking if everyone is alright and keeping folks updated. Did not stop or forget about the RP part either, I was honestly impressed (granted you had half a team of tourists that where there for the sightseeing ^^) of how well you did and what a cool head you kept. I usually want to shoot the first officer myself after they suicide rush into an x-ray turret. Honestly glad to see you back in your old form. Superior RP, IC memes that make sense from a lore perspective and the focus on getting everyone safely through the shift while teaching a thing or two to the newcomers. Take my +1, if I could I would just give you my whitelist instead
  11. Awesome character that get's trapped with the not so awesome cargo teams to often. Get some tasks outside the department, it helps a lot for the character and your mental well being as a player ^^ getting stuck somewhere else during a code red is the best time to meet and greet all kinds of people. There is a reason why the bar almost never closes That might be a problem with realism though. I tend to get my character to safety and behind multiple doors during crisis from time to time and it's not easy to find your way into a place you usually don't belong in. Best tipp for the access and outgoing work would be the classic bridge assistant, in the case of cargo getting tunnel access and maybe bridge access to deliver all kinds of things when people most need it. (though risky and not something for every character or player). All in all I don't do tajara or motherly characters, but your version is my favourite right now
  12. I see you put your heart into every antag round, trying to get a great gimmik together and using AooC to help new people learn. You have provided interesting characters that fit and delivered the lore to new folks all around and I am personally one of those that really felt welcomed by that kind of play. No reason to not support you from what I see in the game itself. Also strongly agree that you might run into the trap of burning yourself out. Leadership is not an easy task, neither is reformation of something. I believe that you got it in you, but hope you will reach out and not burry yourself in work. In this regard your resignation is a rather big plus for me since seeing when to pass and focus on something more important is an incredibly important ability and leads to more productive results than just crunching through. Easy +1, though @Juani2400 should not be scared of the comparison. You are both awesome people.
  13. That means we got the bulky one anyway... I don't like the two other versions, or softsuit versions ^^ but that's taste so meh. I would like one without purple and the blue light from the yellow sprite instead, but that would just give more options to vote and maybe we already have too many.
  14. Voting for the bulky one, not a fan of the overly yellow and the purple always turned me off. Love the bulky, fits the slowdown and the rough work atmos of mining.
  15. I took the liberty to move this to the unban request area All you need to do now is adjust the formating to this one:
  16. Interview: https://pastebin.com/f1UHTVSG A long read, but a good read. Worth the time ?
  17. Based gamer, but you are out of character slots. Also not sure how exactly you want to make a waifu out of that, but I think you are already working on the challenge Now for some real feedback. You are the #2 person I hit up with lore questions since you tend to know most, if not all, or who to ask for. You also have the ability to explain it to a dense person like me... which sometimes takes a lot of effort on your end and I really appreciate it. That said you even do so on a larger scale through events, either planing or helping... I don't see any reason why you would not be able to portray a really good vaurca. On to my only question though: Will it be a realistic alien creature, or just another bug that does goofy stuff and acts like an idiot about it? YOU KNOW WHAT TO ANSWER HERE! All in all a +1, hope to valid RP with your bug soon.
  18. You suspect they are just fucking with you. There is no evidence available to you, since you have neither insight into how your ticket was handled nor what steps where taken by staff. Please do not handle a feeling, thought or suspicion as a fact. The staff team does not get that luxury, hence why we act in good faith until proven otherwise. You do not have to trust any of us. It does not change anything for us though. The idea that any of us hold a grudge against you is countered by you being in the community. If one staff member would go out of their way to remove you, it would have happened already. What I can frequently observe is that players get piled with their staff team due to matching timezones and while it may feel like you always get the same three people answering your ticket it does not mean they didn't handle a hundred other ones in the meantime. About the current staff teams attitude: This forum here is your best indicator of the mentality. None of us have to engage in this discussion, reply or treat it as a fair complaint and investigate. Yet we take the time to do so. Neither Fowl nor Garn have turned the stick around, mentioning that you have an obvious issue with the two (or the entire staff team) as an argument to take you less serious. Instead you get the same treatment as every other player would, which in my eyes does not put you below or above the rest of our playerbase. We use notes to let other staff know what to keep an eye out for and what you as the player have been spoken to about (i.e. Informed about a rule). If you have been spoken about this multiple times and decide to not change it, we escalate to punishment. A note is not punishment. We do not have to publish notes. As a rule of thumb you usually get to many notes before we take a closer look and decide to punish on the next offense (this usually is in a note, too).

  22. You'll find that most of the community is rather chill and will listen and take time for you. Keep it polite from now on and it should be fine. Unbann request accepted.
  23. Well that depends on the RP involved in that from securities side, the antags and the crewmember in question. You could aim at the scientist with your gun for example instead of the officer.. would create some more interesting scenarios in my eyes. Depending on the relations crewmember may refuse to help, or be scared to go into the bloodfilled sublevel and so on.
  24. Just nope. I implied that as a staff member with the antag knowledge I have to take extra caution to not meta anyone, so I focus on the investigative and PR part of playing an officer. This change would force officers to seek out interaction with other crewmember or command. I think this is a good change, giving other departments more involvement. I did not wish to point out or critique anyone elses playstyle. I know it is a small thing to point out. I wanted to point that thing out. I hope this helps in undrstanding the thing I wanted to point out. Tldr: Interaction with other department good for RP. I like.
