  1. I dont know what exactly happened in medical. All i can say is throwing sleep gas plants was prooooobably ok. Dont really know to what extend the acid gas plants affected things. @BearSchwanz Apparently you where the CMO that round. Do you happen to know?
  2. Yeah sure @sonicgotnuked What exactly is the warning about then? I have to wonder what the point is if we are already going from a perma ban to.... a warning. Feels more like the entire situation is not even noteworthy.
  3. @TheDilShawn does that all sound good?
  4. Will get this within a day or two. My first post will be just establishing what the issue is and maybe what my gut feeling is. Then we can go from there.
  5. Are ya winnin son?

  6. I will look into this. I will just begin by gathering some information from what i see here in the thread. Can you elaborate on this? Did someone explicitly you to do this via an administrator PM or was this suggested in AOOC? I will go down a list on what the events here appear to be. 1. Twigman supreme @TheDilShawn creates an unholy array of gas plants and various chemical weapons to make papa nurgle green with envy. 2. Tries to put on a show for the crew but nobody is interested. Eventually forces it on engineering in the guise of one of his nymphs. They beat his little twig to death after being gassed. 3. Big twig johnson @TheDilShawn of course understands that he does not know what his nymph did in engineering but engineering is of course only too willing to brag about their escapades over the radio that he is able to piece it together. If a tree falls in the forest engineering will claim they chopped it down. 4. This understandably rustles the branches of our leafy antagonist and he sets out on a quest for revenge. He finds most of engineering still reeling from his nymph's gas-capades. He follows them to medical in an attempt to give them a leaf of his mind when they recover. Here is a portion of OP's testimony So, i assume some words are said over this and that and this escalates to a friendly game of catch except they where playing catch with deadly gas plants and losing this particular game means dying a horrible death. I have no doubt that medical was "in the area" and certainly suffered some form of collateral damage. However i have to wonder if such collateral is really unacceptable as OP seemed to only try to throw sopor plants at medical and that claim appears to be backed up by sonic. Right, crossfire. Gas as we all know it spread. I am not sure whether medical was all immediately trying to flee OR if they really did as OP says try to intervene and "play hero". My experience in being staff for this server for a number of years now leads my gut to feel for the latter. I do not know if that is necessarily his responsibility. Surely all of us would punish someone who randomly goes to medical and starts gassing people there for absolutely no reason. He would be responsible for every person he kills. What i see here is the diona in question went to medical for a specific reason. That reason was to fuck up those engineer's who had killed his nymph. That really should be where the discussion. If some people get unintentionally caught in the crossfire or if he was gunning down and chasing after people who had absolutely nothing to do with it i could understand. It seems that was not the case here.
  7. Mechanical restrictions are better. Detectives should only have a taser. Ballistics are really strong and its weird for a role to have a gun when they should not be near a fight in the first place.
  8. Knowing more about how the code works could potentially turn me from an awful headmin into a semi-decent one. I am interested time depending, my schedule is pretty tight.
  9. How do we fire a headmin?

  10. This is a really weird mindset. By your own logic you have to acknowledge that since security usually wins that is not interesting. Thus we should take steps to reduce the chance for security to win. More towards, yes. Its not interesting for EITHER party to dominate the win conditions of a round. Currently only sec does this.
  11. Your opinion does matter. Sec have just been on top since the server was created. Naturally sec players are going to defend against any and all nerfs to treat what we in the leadership view as a problem. Nobody enjoys having cool toys to play with for years and then having them taken away. This does not change the fact that security has an overwhelming and majority hold over the pace and condition of the round. THey have an overwhelming advantage against any and all antagonists. This advantage manifests in greater numbers, communication, equipment and utilization of station's resources. For example medical will happily and efficiently heal any sec member wounded in a fight. Antags are lucky to have this happen and even if it does they will be arrested before they wake up. There is no conversation that can be had unless this fact is understood. We do not want to remove security. We want to balance it.
  12. Hi My previous message was not a joke. Your HoS character walked into a shocked door once in front of my janitor. The resulting shock blew off your character's hand. In response to this i said "Hey do you need a hand HoS?". Your response to this was to fire a tazer at me. I thought this interaction was pretty funny and i still remember it. +1
  13. No A lot of antags already have tools that make them very strong in 1v1 fights or even 1v2 - 1v3 fights. Wizards, ninjas and a vampires for example. It would probably be.... not good for balance if antags became better at dealing with security. Yeah its possible. I reckon we would go back to the drawing board if it was that bad.
  14. The idea that we can only focus on improving gameplay balance at the cost of RP is straight up wrong. Nobody bats an eye when we have nerfed antagonist abilities for being too powerful. Abilities such as vampire's dominate, wizard movement abilities and traitor revolver damage. Nobody voices criticism when we change the map to "buff" the crew either. Used to be in the past security's armory was separated from space by a single reinforced wall without a camera. Nowadays the armory has teleport protection, multiple wall layers and ID locked closets. None of these changes sacrificed "RP" in any meaningful way. They addressed problematic areas in which certain situations where dominated by one way to play that was deemed not great. We have a problem with security having a stranglehold on the round. We have a problem with them being able to shut down antagonists too easily. We have a problem with security that does NOT boil down to "Git good antags". Can you tell me where exactly this was said or even implied? We are going to great lengths in explaining we want to REDUCE security's power over the round NOT remove it. Antags replacing security in this position is probably not good either. We must strive for a better balance.
  15. Yeah theres probably no reason you should not have a skrell white-list. Your characters are a lot little too nice for my taste but considering how many command players have though being a dickhole was a character trait i honestly prefer your kind. +1
  16. Sorry about this. The coronavirus shut a lot of things in my life down and stress made me forget about this. Afraid i am going to have to deny this on the following grounds. 1. You cannot pick the staff member who bwoinks you 2. You have to answer our questions and you cannot be rude. 3. The "oh i am not supposed to remember this" is hard to believe as "just an IC joke" when the rest of your notes are taken into account.
  17. Two reasons reasons 1. Communication is the biggest thing we can mess with to achieve our stated goals. The ability to quickly and efficiently coordinate against station enemies is a big part of the problem. 2. It will not remove your ability to role-play with each other on green. It will certainly impact it but you can still ask your head for a break to go to the bar. Every department member ends up their sooner or later. It is also possible that this DOES impact it enough to check the "awful" clause skull indicated for reverting.
  18. Its very difficult to attack a system that has the round's focus a bit too much with just policy. Mechanical restrictions should come in slowly first coupled with updates to SOP. Which is exactly what is happening here.
  19. You will have to ask lancer. I reckon no because we are talking about specifically CMO conduct. So it makes sense you would need other CMOs to vouch for you.
  20. Next time i will send an announcement about it. This is motivated reasoning. You're just looking for any justification you can to warrant an emergency shuttle. If you where actually interested in the RP you would stay and play the game. I could justify calling the emergency shuttle anytime a merc team steps on to the shuttle or a cult team makes a base in the bar. This is not healthy for the server to be so quick with the emergency but thats a separate discussion. Again i stopped the shuttle to allow the merc team to have time to deal with the threat. They showed up and did their thing and then another shuttle was called. It does not make sense to call both the distress beacon and the shuttle.
  21. So, in summary a potentially successful appeal would contain the following. 1. Clean sec record 2. Clean IR record 3. Letters of recommendation from other CMOs Lancer has stipulated number 3 after discussing this on discord. @Resilynn @The lancer Sorry guys this is the last mention i promise.
  22. Sure i acknowledge that. I just got a bit sidetracked because we started a discussion in msay. I am only speaking about this specific situation. I ghosted over and the mercs had only just finished preparing when you called the emergency shuttle. Its really lame to end the round you just called a team to deal with the threat and the threat had not even compromised a significant portion of your station's resources. Its essentially stopping people from playing the game during the climax.
