[Accepted]Yonnimer's Head Of Staff Whitelist App
NoahKirchner replied to Yonnimer's topic in Whitelist Applications Archives
holy fuck yes, Grown by Star Light is one of the best scientists or really players in general that I've worked with, especially when it comes to efficiency. They're more than qualified. And ONTOP of that their Diona makes them actually not appear human icly which is a plus, very good arrpeer. -
This could potentially be fit in with integrated electronics. Have a "Weapon part printer" (Needs a better name) which would allow you to print the chassis (as mentioned in the initial post) and all of the bits and bobs you need. Potentially even allowing you to individually print the stock, barrel, et cetera for maximum modulation and then filling each individual part with the aforementioned bits and bobs. For example, to make a compact weapon you'd print a short barrel, something that would have barely any space, a small action that would allow you to mess with the internal firing mechanism, a stock that you could maybe add some neat-o futuristic stuff into, et cetera. In the barrel you could add different types of focusing lenses and in the action you'd be able to pick the type of crystal you'd use, how large it is, et cetera and then add some heat sinks to keep the gun from exploding. Ontop of all of this you could maybe even have some parts to an already built weapon which allows it to fit in and connect to some kind of assembly, one similar to the one which allows you to connect it to igniters. That way you can, if you're an antag, sabotage a gun or build a remote shut-off switch for it whenever you hand it to somebody. Loads-a-possibilities.

Yes, and that makes the as it is now consistent spells, inconsistent by letting players choose the word said. Good, players dont know about magic anyways so it's not like it's something that needs to remain consistent.

"EXPLOOOOSION" please excuse the reference, I am deeply ashamed I assure you. Anyways, this'd be neat just to fit in with gimmicks.
-
Hulk can still make sense icly, as hulk is just large and unwieldy. Also I find the genetics glowing features to be ugly as heck, it'd be neat to find another way to represent that they angry (Maybe making them larger or have some purple lines on them to represent veins, idk)

A way to potentially make this able to be discussed IC is to have, as opposed to "He's been SSD for XX minutes", have at 10 minutes or something have it say "He looks to be in a deep sleep" or "He is almost comatose". I figure it'd serve the same function but maybe allow it to be discussed if it'd ever need to be, like between sec officers deciding whether or not to take 'em to cryo yet.

Jennifer Beal's Portable Wardrobe Kit (And Outfits)
NoahKirchner replied to Synnono's topic in Completed Items
I really like the TV t-shirt option, gives space station 13 even more in-universe stuff to talk about. -
I kinda like the idea of officers having to find another place to stow their taser as opposed to in their backpack.

This removes that middle man for the most part. Hence, I made the suggestion. I'm well aware of my ability to cry to the HoS or Captain. This just works to remove that necessity. By this logic, banning anybody for breaking corporate law would be "Removing the middle man." Dealing with minor breaches like that are all the HoS and Captain have to do on extended rounds anyways.

Seeya holmes, take care.

[1 dismissal]Add job positions for the Odin's starting area.

+1 if this becomes a job for post-death. Like mouse or drone. Otherwise, eh. -
How do you provide 'interesting RP' to a player you intend to kill?
NoahKirchner replied to K0NFL1QT's topic in General
Well you clearly don't want to just pop out and shoot their head off. What I like to do when I am antag and have to kill someone is kidnap them first to give them some extra time to arrpee, and failing that, I usually keep their bodies somewhere out in the semi-open where it will be found instead of decapping them and blasting them off into space. Usually though I just stay away from killing people because it seems to be thin ice. -
Forum Overhaul - What I've done - Suggestions

There's a typo in the rules, under punishments bullet 4. "All punishments are **appealed** unless stated otherwise by an administrator" -
iirc. red grabbing someone keeps them up regardless.

I can see absolutely nothing wrong with this suggestion.

This sounds like a good idea, ninja as a gamemode sometimes only really involves security because the ninja is caught right away, this might help to bring more people into the fun.
-
I like it, pretty horror-esque and brings more people into the fray. I'd bother coders about this if it gets a lot of traction and hope that it doesn't get buried.

I apologize for being unclear about where the bodyguard could or could not go. I believe they should be able to travel on the ship to the Aurora and remain on board as Wal-Mart Loss Prevention during shopping, but not be able to disembark onto the Aurora (with the exception of recovering a merchant that is dead/ in trouble, or pursuing a shoplifter). Perhaps instead of one fixed bodyguard job slot, one of the available vendors offers bodyguard protection (this should be a vendor always available to the merchant). The vendor can provide differing levels of equipment with this bodyguard: a plainclothes bodyguard carrying a 45 with non-lethal rounds, a guard with a flak jacket carrying a pistol with lethal rounds, a cyborg with a security loadout and merchant-specific lawset, a experimental energy-armored guard with a pulse carbine and a SWAT bodyguard with a machine gun. The merchant could purchase as many or as few of these bodyguards as they wish, but the price dramatically increases with each one hired. The job openings could go to dchat much like xenobio mobs. The option to play as a bodyguard would be a toggleable option in the prefs. The bodyguard can beam in to the pad once a player selects to play him/her/it. Oh then yeah that sounds great!
-
+1 for the auto-spawning guards actually. I feel like the merchant guard might get bored alone at the base, but having an intruder trigger an "oh HECK no u dont Asset Recovery team tm" might spice things up while not having a role where your only job is to sit in the empty warehouse and finger paint or... eat way too many sugar free gummy bears.

Intergrated Circuits - A Guide to Space Age Electronics
NoahKirchner replied to Ornias's topic in Guides & Tutorials
Two tickers running opposite of each other as far as time goes each connected to an independent signaler. One would send a message of 1, the other of 0, and on the receiving end the 1 receiver would transmit a pulse and the 0 receiver wouldn't or just wouldn't exist even better, store the current on state on a memory chip. When the signal comes have a not gate set the chip to not-current value. This should flip 1 to 0 and back whenever the signal comes in But how will you send the negative signals? -

I think applications in general work better as OOC ventures, it gives people the ability to critique or compliment regardless of their IC character's interactions with the player, and just because someone is competent at their job doesn't necessarily mean that they can push the round for both the crew and the antag as opposed to properly doing their job and just merkin' the fool in the hallway. It also disallows discussion of antag events because those things aren't canon so nobody could discuss it. Best way I see this working is by having two seperate sections of the application, one which is essentially a resume that CCIA checks over to make sure it checks out lorewise and the rest being OOC information that people can comment on.

They can also be used to record conversations with enough memory sticks and some timing circuits (Or a machine full of memory sticks and a recorder with a subspace transciever) A better idea is to append it to a list. That way, you don't waste space. But then you can't go all super fancy schmancy tech guy and take out the chip, look at it and hand it to a forensic tech or something
