Are you using a Proxy server, VM or are on a shared connection like college dorms tend to have? The system bans those IP adresses so you'll get a smack for someone else who used the same addres to log in.

Sleepy is already in the team, works good, draws art and doesn't afraid of anything. However you also seem to have a similar issue as JB and that is attention. I've noticed that while you can stick to something a lot better than him, you also bounce around a lot and tend to kinda toss ideas and move onto others very quickly. Not saying this is bad but for a static species like the Skrell, this might get the players a bit nervous. Anyways let's get down to business. What do you think the skrell currently need to re-vitalize their interest? The crisis isn't as bad as memers would lead you to believe as I see about 2-3 skrell every few rounds instead of 0, but what do you think is the true CREAM to bring back old players and interest new ones? My main issue with skrell was always that they're encouraged to be "emotionless" and "expressionless", which is a questionable decision for a game that uses text to RP. What's your opinion on this? Plan on changing anything? Big fat think dropping right here, what do you think about whitelist applications? How do you think Skrell whitelist applications should be conducted? Going to be more like Loow or going for your own style? Thank you in advance for any answers.

Note: I did apologise in the Parapen thread as I have misunderstood a previous posts from Burger. That was on my part. Re-reading it, it mostly seems like a pointless change now. However I still believe there is a lot of agenda pushing behind every 4th to 6th PR made. Mainly the PR's that were so stupid in essence they were shut down immediatly and no drama was stirred around them. Namely: Make AI's a % spawn, after playing borg extensively and constantly complaining that AI's don't know what they're doing. Removing Wizard apprentice contracts after meeting a peacewizard who made apprentices in a round. Multiple attempts to whitelist antags after each "bad round" even though everyone else might have enjoyed it. Observing a ninja roundstart, assuming everyone in the round is bored and making thread after thread to remove/turn it into whitelisted antag. BUT as stated by Skull on the previously made Ban Request thread It doesn't matter WHY you code, just that you code. So really these gripes are pointless to hold.

Attack logs. Shooting logs. Blood-decal increase. Moving object increase. Bullet shells on the ground. Infinitely spawning corpses and bodies. We barely got out of crashing 3 times every single day recently people.

Okay I'll rule this out simply. From the story I collected neither the Blob or the Raiders were present on station when the whole situation with shutting the shutters happened. Both the HoS character AND the CMO characters over-reacted like absolute idiots, yet I believe JB's character backed out of their resolution into a warning while I don't believe the CMO ever decided to open the shutters. The situation was resolved WITH an agreement on a WARNING, we're done with that. The IR is an in-character IR and by that standard it doesn't violate any of the whitelist specifications we put out. It doesn't ruin a round, it doesn't prevent communication and if anything it served the round better to start shit AFTER the emergency then BEFORE the emergency. Both characters over-reacted, if I took actions against one I would have to take action against the other. Thus both players can regard this as a verbal warning that their COMMAND jobs PRECEDE the CUNTINESS of their characters. Character integrity is important, but if your character is such a cunt that he cannot keep his cuntiness contained even during such simple issues, he would not have gotten the job in the first place and thus is an UNBELIVABLE command character. To continue, ei incumbit probatio qui dicit, the presumption of innocence. There is no concrete evidence to suggest foul-play besides timing and history of both players. I took both into regard, looked at what both sides presented and found the defendant not guilty. There is nothing that confirms malicious intent, Jackboot presented his timestamped post and Mofo the fact that JB was open to have a dialogue about the IR before being posted. Processing the IR is on the CCIA's but I won't take his whitelist because of the IR. If anything I'd say making an IR after a round is better than causing drama in-round. There is a lot of word-souping that amounts to absolutely nothing, Jackboot has answered everyones questions, no other IR has arised during his time as a head and he has gained positive reviews from many involved players. To put it simply, I'll accept this application and U R G E people to contact me, Alberyk or Matt if they THINK they saw foul play and neither of them is present on server. Further we'll keep an eye on BOTH offenders. Application accepted, case closed, go home people.

I'm sorry but this application will be denied due to lack of feedback. While whitelists for species don't require peer feedback the extremely cooperative and tearmwork-prone Head whitelist does to prove that your characters and you as a player get along with others. We urge you to apply in a near future and try for more feedback once you're more known on the server.

Alright I'm torn on this. On one hand you've answered all questions properly and regarding lore I have zero issues with that, issue is behaviour. Yes yes I know others have approached it but I think they have approached it from a wrong angle, they approached it from a communicative angle. Sure you can be a proper cunt but you can also raise fair points quite often and have actual good objective insight, when you try which you often don't but that's besides the point. The issue is approachability, while JB approached this issue as "talking to other loredevs" my concern is for new players. As a lore developer a person doesn't have to be a perfect example of humanity, but you come off as intimidating, very intimidating and that is something that can seriously make someone turn away from making a whitelist or even considering a species. Maybe it's the whole banter culture we facilliate, I should probably re-invent myself too but that's besides the point. But yes this is the only issue I have with this application. The answers were top-notch, you seem to know what in general the skrell need, you've answered my Whitelist question pretty much perfectly and I've got no other issues besides approachability. It's not a ringing endorsement but I would be a blind fucking idiot to say that you haven't answered questions well.

Having mained it many years ago I can confirm Phoron researcher used to be called Plasma researcher which used to be Toxin researcher.

Simon is a cool guy, healthy player with a healthy outset on the game. His characters are pretty fun, involved and so far he's made more than sure that he stays involved in the Tajara lore while at the same time keeping an aura of "modernity" for his character. I like that, I can confidently say that he's a good whitelisted player. But god above I am not a man to lie and so I'll be frank, I hate that backstory. Frankly this is completely a matter of opinion and I hope it does not impact the whitelist as a whole but I just cannot approve of this without ripping on the backstory. Okay I said I'd rip it but I like this part simply because it provides a subtle hint towards Nikit's attitude, using your new whitelist to strenghten your existing character i like that. Now here is where it begins, why did you mention Nikit? Sure he ASSEMBLED it but he had otherwise absolutely no impact or bearing on the IPC? Really? I feel like this actually weakens your previous point. This is less of an involvement and more of a Stan Lee cameo. I would be okay with this mention if P.H.A.X. was somehow influenced or at least impacted by Nikit but this is like I said before just an empty pointless cameo and makes it seem like you just had an issue hitting 2 paragraphs and decided to include Nikit randomly just to fill out space. "Emulating emotions", here is the thing. You stress how Nikit likes IPCs because they're logical and that they don't have "real" emotions yet you keep contradicting yourself. Here you say he made friends, but isn't a friend someone who helps you even if they don't have a net gain? You even say later acting respectfuly out of FEAR of dismantling! You talk the talk but you don't walk the walk in this. I think you confuse respect and logic. It's logical to step aside and help a professional handle something, it's respectful to let an old lady on a train before you. I fail to see how being respectful would lead to assuming that you could purchase your freedom later. Wouldn't it actually act selfishly and steal jobs from decent folks so it could make money faster? Predatory tactics are logically way more applicable in a company like Nanotrasen then respect. But why an IPC? This robot was built to engineering. Nikit had absolute minimum impact according to the story and you told us yourself that IPCs are logical being that only emulate emotions, so why does this IPC want to be free? To be frank this seems like you saw what other IPC whitelists did and tried to copy it while also making your own character and these two concepts seem to contradict each other. Frankly this whole app is extremely generic and boring compared to your other, much better whitelist applications. You can do a LOT better, I believe you can dude so why this weak and mellow app. Oh hello there Nikit, where were you this IPCs entire life? Jokes aside Nikit seems like a deadbeat dad this entire post, we have 0 words that suggest he did anything to actually support this IPC besides assemble it. Here is a question. So I've noticed Loow was, in his early days, very enthusiastic about playery provided lore. Namely I remember him contacting me about the homeworld of my skrell when I happenned to mention it in my application and prod for info to add to the wiki later on. I quite liked that at first. but Later on Loow did something I disagreed with fernently and that was to not grant a whitelist application because not enough players were asking the whitelistee questions in his thread and were instead giving endorsements. (most of the players didn't HAVE a skrell whitelist so how can they ask "Skrelly questions" you know?) Anyways how do you see yourself doing whitelist applications?

I've said this previously in Discord, I like the Anomalous/Xenoarcheology suits more because they're the only spacesuit design that has a clear visor so you can see the face of the person wearing it.

I believe I was in the round as the priestess stoking the flame as the crowd was getting violent due to the presence of a flesh-melting demon, but to explain when I asked Willow herself she said that she was, correct me if I'm wrong, okay with the wizard and the cat being there. She had not expressed as far as I remember any raised empathy for the fleshmonster from my experience.

However it's weird you'd speak about your opinions on what robustness is, how boring torture RP is and etc. if you don't want to get into an argument. Again, if I am wrestling them to the ground. What prevents me from slapping cuffs on them. The fact is there is no way to justify the usability of the new parapen.

1) Traitors aren't security, stop thinking of them as such. 2) "Potential to be abused" is a pointles speculation, if this were true the entirety of science should just be deleted due to their high "abuse" potential. Yet you rarely hear about telescience instantly teleporting maxcaps into the AI core. Most likely because rules cover it. Blanketing every single mechanic under "Stun based" and "Non-stun based" combat is not good for long term development and quite harmful as a mindset actually. Yep. Okay question, if I have someone detained why would I be injecting them in the first place at that point. Even in your manifactured perfect scenario the parapen is an extra step. If I have someone detained enough to do what you described, I'll have already dragged them into maint.

Basing a mechanical change on the subjective opinion that certain kind of RP isn't fun for you is not really a viable defence for why something should be added. I partially agreed with Arrow in the fact that instant stuns are cancer, however from my experience I have not seen the parapen abused in the same way as flashes, batons, flashbangs etc. etc. etc. This is why I think it's an okay item to have so far, if people START abusing it I'll most likely change my stance. We don't play like /tg/ because we aren't a /tg/ server. If I wanted to play a /tg/ like server I'd go play on /tg/, not on Aurora. It's starting to look like an agenda frankly. The AM rifle costs your entire TC budget and comes with a single bullet. The 375 is overpowered and overused because there is no better alternative in the roster, I'd agree on removing it or replacing it with a slightly weaker revolver. Grenades are grenades, simple and effective. If you find an issue about those all I can suggest is "git gud". In short I'd agree with why Arrow would want to implement it if it were abused. However this project has been created purely because someone dislikes a certain kind of RP with a complete failure to realize nothing about this suggestion would actually fix any of the presented problems. Sidenote, on the matter of votes, stacking a poll 4 to 1 will lead to majority picking the most MODERATE answer, see the antag event and VP politics which have ended up in the most status quo keeping factions.
