  1. another whitelist will never work nor will it ever be done because it's the opposite of what should be done - we don't need more whitelists to play antags
  2. DERELICT ROLES DERELICT ROLES Survivors in the new away missions. Distress signal kinda shit. It'd incentivize people actually using them.
  3. the last post here was on may 6
  4. No. I was the unathi merc in robotics.
  5. Basic Information Byond Account: - MattAtlas. Character Name(s): - Emily Cress, Luo Jingyi, Kyong Su-Yeongseon. AI Name(s): - I don't play AI. Discord username + tag: - mattatlas#0999 Age: - 17 Timezone: - GMT+2 When are you on Aurora?: - Basically everyday for at least four hours. Experience How long have you played SS13?: - Three years, going up on four. How long have you played on Aurora: - Three years. How much do you know about SS13 (Baystation build) game mechanics?: - I'd say I know just about everything except integrated circuits. Do you have any experience moderating for an SS13 server?: - I was a secondary admin here and a moderator on CM. Have you read through the criteria thread; https://forums.aurorastation.org/viewtopic.php?f=27&t=4198 - and believe that you mark off all the criteria?: - Yes, I do believe I mark off all the criteria. Have you ever been banned, and if so, how long and why?: - I haven't been banned. Personality Why do you play SS13?: - It's pretty much one of the only roleplay avenues I know of - the general setting is one of my favourites and the mix of roleplay and mechanics is very good. It also has that element of chaos you can't find anywhere else. Why do you play on Aurora?: - It's the best HRP server there is by far and large. Even though I burn out, I keep coming back to it. It also has one of the few good communities in this game, and I'd say it's probably the one I like the most. Sure, there are a few bad apples, but that's true for any community, and what matters is that here it's mostly good apples. What do moderators do?: - Handle tickets on-server, discord moderation, forum moderation and player complaints. Handling tickets also means answering mundane questions, and not just "help I got ganked". What does it mean to be a moderator for our server?: - Even though you're only a moderator you still represent the server. You're the biggest administrative body and are expected to handle on-server issues. You enforce rules on the server, mentor new players if necessary, answer gameplay questions, handle complaints, moderate the discord and forums and keep the server's atmosphere intact. Why do you want to be a moderator?: - This is kind of a hard question for me to answer, because it's always been natural to me. However, if I had to pin it down, I'd say it's the current lack of lowpop moderators being infuriating. Other than that, I do want to help the server in some way - as it turned out, CCIA wasn't for me. What qualities do you possess that would make you a good moderator?: - I have previous experience, the ability to know that this is still a game and good judgement. I'm very capable of keeping a cool head in arguments and I can see if I'm wrong. I don't like dancing around the point with useless fluff. so my responses are usually short and concise, which I'd consider a good quality. How well do you handle stress, anger, or insults?: - I don't think I care much about any of those. I'm perfectly capable of just handing the ticket to someone else if I get too involved with it, even with how improbable that is. Anything Else You Want to Add: - I'm just going to get this out of the way since I know it's gonna be asked. I quit CCIA because it was not to my liking. I didn't like being CCIA and it felt like a chore, otherwise I would've stayed. Being a moderator is something I'm much more familiar with and something I'd stick with.
  6. Hello, Nossar here. None of this is out of context - she looted a dead warden in that round and took their vest/shotgun/belt to... well, defend people, I guess? The encounter outlined in the OP happened in south robotics, in the hallway. I had some people hostage in robotics to repair a fellow merc and told Green to drop the shotgun and walk away with a C20-r out, in their immense wisdom they shot at me. It didn't make much sense all things considered.
  7. go back to phos

    1. Mofo1995

      Mofo1995

My pfp was literally never phos, what berenstein timeline are you living in? (Phos is best gem though)

  8. I would -1 you because you disagree with the cloak removal, but you're a good roleplayer and I like your characters, so +1. I don't have doubts about your ability to be a good head of staff as I've seen plenty from you.
  9. There is literally a dude IRL who uses a super expensive car frame as a WALL DIVIDER in his motherfucking living room. This isn't an issue.
  10. Aren't slimes very closely related to phoron? If they are, wouldn't this be a "rich person item"? Because I would absolutely support that more than just another reskinned prosthetic. Slarms are pretty cool and open the gate to other weird shit like weaponized diona prosthetics.
  11. This game is clearly not for you, then. SS13 is the complete antithesis to what you're proposing. I'd suggest just finding another game and leaving if antags cause you so much grief.
  12. Why do you want to promote an existing character and not make a new one? What do you mean by "I made Mya/Mia to promote them"?
  13. The story the game tells is not about your character and your character alone, but about the station as a whole. Telling a story requires sacrifice. You are inciting people to believe the opposite of what they should be. A story with no tension isn't what SS13 is about, nor does it make for an interesting one. You might like to chairRP, for lack of a better term, but you can't expect antagonists to conform to your weird "nobody should die" ideas. Cloning should die in a ditch and I agree there. Also nothing prevents MDs or surgeons from cloning other than CMO players. The issue is a mechanical issue, so this feels more like a "me no like antag" vent.
  14. I've known you for a while and you've been a pretty solid roleplayer in my experience. +1

  17. This sprite would not look very good in game. Not only are most colours unrelated to the departments, they're also WAY too bright.
  18. aka just click examine on the person you dont know and you get added to the list automatically
  19. @ReadThisNamePlz please lock this before people start going off on tangents

  21. I was originally against IPCs getting the chance to be HoP/HoS - I still am, I don't believe a robot should be commanding sec or having as much power as a HoP. Why? Because this reinforces machines not being considered a full "species". I don't like the basically almost human free reign that IPCs have nowadays, job-wise. Is it bad? Not really. Would I rather have the opposite? Yes.
  22. You need to put in more effort into trying to act reasonably tame if you want people to know your character more for actual feedback. Most of the time I see you around I'm driven off by the kinda shit that makes me think "this feels like a 12 year old kid, not an unathi". So basically what Paradox said. Just dial down the "haha random humor" and you'll be fine. I'm sure you can make a good character, but the way you play kinda undermines it.
  23. Many people would rather shut up and suffer rather than go through the process of dealing with you, if this is your attitude. Maybe it's not everyone that's wrong, but rather you.
  24. Unable to pin their name and voice down until they get examined with an ID, maybe? It would be relatively simple to do, I think.
