  1. They aren't being saved. While I admire the effort you put into this, the consensus is that they are being removed, and that this is a net positive for the server. I still stand by their removal, as well.
  2. There has already been a lot of discussion on security borgs outside of this thread. Removal of sec borgs isn't the question here, and it's definitely not a sec nerf. The removal of sec borgs is coming after the current arc is completed.
  3. I don't fault anyone for being safe. But feedback is feedback and not all of us know Bear well enough to know this; some of us just have to go off what we see here. It's a disservice to people to not be honest with them, and at the end of the day it's up to him (and the lore team) to decide if the feedback is useful. VT may not have pulled punches, but her feedback had good points, some of which I missed and agree with. That said, the expansion of OAIMA's character with your recent edit is very good. There's more to them outside of just "I'm a bot that NT bought, and I work X job." With that, I'll offer a +1. You demonstrated your knowledge and weren't afraid to rework based on feedback.
  4. Well, the app, frankly, seems like the "bear" minimum. I recognize a few characters, namely Lachlan, and I think your RP is solid from the little of it I've seen. You're active and people seem to like you. Your backstory is, however, totally generic, and I wouldn't even consider it two paragraphs- it's five sentences. We know very little of OAIMA, save for one aspect of its personality. It feels like there's little difference between them and a stationbound. What else can you tell us about OAIMA? What makes them a rounded character, rather than generic IPC #301? We don't need a dramatic backstory, but I feel we need a little more info about them so we know you can recognize the difference between an IPC and a Stationbound. Not a bad app, but a lacking one. I suggest thinking about OAIMA more and what else you think makes them unique, and adding that info here.
  5. I will need Kyres to confirm, but I believe that it is actually in the works, and hasn't been scrapped at all.
  6. The lack of table space is a definite problem in robotics, as anyone who has played it during a busy round can attest.
  7. There's a lot of extra space in the northwest maint area of robotics. Perhaps a total overhaul of the space is overdue? It's quite claustrophobic as is, especially by the fabricators. Additionally, we could probably shrink the area between the lab proper and the garage door. It really doesn't NEED to be that big. But within the current confines of space, move the tables by the single-panels back up to their original spot (removing the one right next to the conveyor, obviously). Remove the table on the tile closest to the operating table for freer access to the north of the lab. Otherwise, it's a lovely redesign, IMO.
  8. Console isn't a bad idea, either. A signal announced over common also isn't a bad idea if there's a pretty decent cooldown on its use. Five minutes? More? Last thing we need is that being spammed, by accident or not.
Vesper tried when nobody else would dare. See you, space cowgirl...
  9. hmm today I will wonder if my assault charge will be downgraded?

  10. Ah, so like how cloning calls a person to re-enter, and if they don't it comes up as MIF? Really into it. I've ghosted as borg several times, not realizing that people were actually making efforts to reboot me. I think this is a good idea!
  11. I love you. I assume it won't be as spammable as it is now? Making resist less spammable is probably a good idea. Though even with the reduced upgrade speed, I worry that a blue grab will basically be a win button. This is obviously speculation since I'm not sure what numbers you're plugging in, but grabs are already extremely strong. Yeah, a neckgrab should be nearly impossible to break, but I only ask that you be careful with the blue grab values. I wonder if there's a way/if it's a good idea to increase your chance of breaking out of a grab while it's being upgraded, to further encourage good timing. I really like the idea of parry chances for melee weapons. I wish we could do something with intents and that, too; ie: on disarm intent, your parry chance is increased, but your attacks are either slower or do less damage. Something to make it less of a caveman "i bonk you, you bonk me, go until one man horizontal"
  12. Disarm spam is, IMO, the #1 problem. It's a meta solution and ridiculous assumption that anyone could easily disarm a weapon from an opponent. This change alone would make combat leagues better than it is.
  13. hmm today I will remember that machine man bad

  14. Fits in pretty well with the rest of the chatter on common radio most of the time, then. But I do agree that altering misuse of comms to specifically say "talking in non-basic does not constitute misuse of comms unless it's done after a command member asked them to stop" or something more concise would be a good enough step. I really just want people to stop crying "bluhhuhh basic on comms!" the second someone says two words in sinta'unathi, or being slapped with it by gung-ho sec officers when it's not even disruptive. If they continue to hold a long conversation and spamming common, that already falls under misuse of comms, no matter what language. If they continue after a command member said not to, that's failure to execute an order. So most instances should be covered. They just need to be enforced correctly.
  15. bAsIc On CoMmS!1! I really hate seeing this. These people see even one word of non-basic on a radio and they smugly chastise them for it. At least two heads of personnel I've had characters work under get a stick up their ass about it on supply radio. I think the presented guidelines are reasonable, along with what Geeves said. Seeing people talk in non-basic is leagues less annoying than seeing some smug douche lecture them. Ah yes, the worst brand of borg player. This is also terrible.
  16. Reminder that you are not only allowed, but legally obligated, to valid all characters with anime reference pics in their FT

This is my favorite anime, a hatto nani in timmuru. It tells the story of the protagonist, hatto kiddaru, that has to work for the nyakuza (yakuza for you gaijins) due to her addiction to snorting hourglass sand.

  17. Yeah I don't understand all what goes into coding, only that it's a thing that is possible. Thanks.
  18. Which is a nice workaround, but doesn't work if I have something on both ear slots. It shouldn't be a problem for a helmet to slip over something so small. That's why I included pins in this thread.
  19. Just like cubic zirconia for diamonds? Or any number of name brand versus generic alternatives, ranging from food to medication to clothing? 90% of people couldn't spot the difference between a knockoff of a $3000 purse and the real thing, but people who buy the latter do so not because of the item itself, but because it shows off how much they can spend. This is the type of ridiculous fashion statement that fits perfectly with our setting. Sure, I could use silicon gel like some sort of dreg rat, but my business made record profits this quarter so I opted to have one custom-made from real slime to match my eye implants.
  20. Why does it have to be a slime person's arm at all, besides the existing mechanics of attaching a slime arm to people? Could it not just be mass of a dead slime, since the prosthetic is doing the actual function, while slime serves as a fashion statement? Or is there something I'm missing?
  21. People have been doing unnecessary things for status when there's a perfectly serviceable alternative freely available for millennia. That tracks with me and goes along with what Matt said and the OP- it's meant to be $$$$$ from what I'm understanding.
  22. Slarm. Idea is cool. Look is sick. Rich fashion prosthetics going beyond just metal? Love it. Very sci-fi, pretty unique. It's a cool way to see xenobio research have an effect off-station. This does raise some lore questions for me, which isn't a bad thing. But it makes me realize how little we've established about slime? We know it's deeply connected to skrell lore, sure, but I mean more like... Is NT the only corporation outside of Jargon that has access to research slimes? If not, then as written it makes sense for Bishop. If so, then maybe it's NT partnering with other corps to co-produce these, which I also like. I mean, we've been researching slimes since Exodus (I think?). Surely NT's monetized by now, and this seems like one of many ways they would have. But then also we have exactly how skrell might react to this. From the wiki re: Slimes. What do you think would be the fallout from this, if it were suddenly to become a fashion item? Could be interesting. Overall, I like the idea. I'm sure those who don't have my peanut brain and understand lore better will comment with how it fits.
  23. Title. Pins/hair clips should not be large enough to get in the way of helmets, in the way that hardsuit gloves can slip over rings. Hijabs would actually be more comfortable to wear under a helmet than just your hair. I understand not wanting many clothing items to fit under voidsuit/hardsuits but in these two instances I think it makes sense to allow them to do so.
  24. I agree with what most of what's been said, especially by Jo and Satins. I do, though, think that after a procedure, there should be some recovery period where you're in a state of minor pain and serious physical activity (Sprinting, fighting, climbing, etc) could cause complications (Such as a suture splitting, as suggested, and causing you to bleed/more pain), but otherwise you're able to interact. This way you're still not 100% for a bit after a procedure (like 5-10 minutes?) but you're not forced to lay in a bed in a stupor while medical handles the fallout from manhack the main hall gimmick #17. They can send you off with some paracetamol/tramadol. 5-10 Minutes is my initial thought because, as said, we're operating on typically 2 hour rounds. Spending 30-40 minutes in medical is just... not enjoyable for most. So it's something to slow your roll after you've had a surgery- which should be expected- but not enough to keep you away from RP you want to do. Yeah, people might demand high-level painkillers to get back to securing valids, but I think overall it's a net positive to have some period after surgery where you're not in tip-top shape. If you have a problem with my self-insert say it to my face Jo.
