  1. Capacity of the materials is correct: it does has is 20k more fab points (and 15 more wire). More materials is absolutely false. Engineering has substantially more material choice and tools. Construction has a drill and an RCD, experimental welding tool, and the MALF ability to make a borg factory. However, the tradeoff is it's functionally useless as an engineering supplement- it doesn't have wirecutters or a multitool. Construction is a niche that doesn't need to be filled by a borg. Without the robust array of materials possessed by the engineering borg, construction is useless at its role. It's tricky. Give construction the missing tools and mats, and it becomes the best choice. Give engineering all of construction's modules, and it becomes extremely OP. Currently, construction is extremely inferior. My suggestion as someone who plays borg a lot is to delete construction and move some things to engineering: Borg factory on MALF, drill, and experimental welding tool. Ditch the RCD. Keep material storage as is on engineering.
  2. Most of my characters are dark-skinned and the warm preset is very good for it. I recommend it.
  3. Lots of good discussion here. If anything, this PR is encouraging action against long-standing problems. While I personally am against the removal of such a well-liked role, I'm not against removals as a solution in general. "Improve, don't remove" is a buzzphrase that ends with a lot of dead or obnoxious code, mechanics, and problems. It's very easy to say when you don't code. Sometimes you can fix a broken item. Sometimes you need to throw it away. I'm not saying that removal is the right decision in this specific instance, but it's not an idea we should shy away from when it comes to development; sometimes removal is improvement for the server. Adding another borg slot is meh. We don't need that many. People have already made good points as to why. Most of my opinion in general has been summed up by flamingo. AI definitely needs nerfs if it is to stay. Satin's post above this one is a good start- items one-three are good ideas. I'd keep ghost roam for ease of use, personally, but we could do without so many cameras. This gives antags (or just shady non-antags) a bit for freedom with blind spots against anyone monitoring cams, too. If bolting is the problem, perhaps adding a delay to when the AI decides to bolt and when it actually does would provide more lenience (No idea if that's even practical to code). Another thought would be to adjust the AI lawset, though I think this would be pretty tricky to nail down. Just something to consider, regardless.

  7. I cannot support this app. You have attitude problems. A lot of them. As Garn said in your first unban appeal for your recent ban, it's nothing short of a miracle that you've not been permanently banned before for it. In my one and a half years on this server, I cannot for the life of me remember a single positive interaction with you, be it OOC or IC. I only have a vaurca whitelist because paradox spoke with me a lot; I almost did not apply simply because dealing with you is a trial. You've only recently been unbanned, and are treading thin ice; the last thing we need is to have a dev banned again. Others may have faith that a month off was enough for you to shape up, and maybe suffering an actual consequence for your malicious behavior WAS enough to open your eyes, but I have reservations. I know for a fact that you've continued to have outbursts over discord to at least one member of the lore team, and have insulted others. While vaurca maintainer you were active and passionate about the species and your work. That's great. But that's about the only positive note. You did not work well with a lot of the lore team. You are not kind when you do not get your way. You bash other team members. Frankly, I think your removal from the lore dev position was good for the server as a whole. You need to take more time to prove you've shaped up before you should undertake any lore dev position. I don't care how good your writing is; if you're not an approachable person who can play nice with others, you should not have a position on a team. If you CAN prove you've changed, then I wouldn't have much issue, but it's going to take a long time to undo your frankly lengthy history of negative behavior. I don't even believe I could support a bid for deputy at this time. Strong -1 from me, I'm afraid.

I’ll add some more. 1) Creativity: IPC lore in its current state offers a surprising amount of flexibility when it comes to unique character concepts. Kyres had played many of them (Such as Akinyi Idowu) to showcase just how unique an IPC can be, without being Human+, super emotional, or unbelievable. How would you try to encourage these character concepts? Do you think you’ll have a problem making judgement calls on what’s unique versus what’s unrealistic? How do you think you can encourage interesting IPC concepts so people don’t default to “human+,” “blank slate nothing,” or “emotional screeching?” 2) Whitelists: It’s not enjoyable, but it’s going to come up. This is one of more popular whitelisted species. Whether you remove one or not, you’re going to catch flak from either side. How do you think you can handle this? I know you’re better than you used to be, but you still can be sassy and heated at times. There's a lot of turmoil around IPCs, players, and whitelists; do you think you are able to handle the stress that comes with that? 3) Golden Deep: What are your thoughts on them? Outside of perhaps one or two characters, I feel that they are largely ignored, and rarely referenced. Do you want to encourage more relevance for them? 4) Purchase: What are your thoughts on the trend of people purchasing IPC crewmembers? It feels like this is a theme recently. 5) Characters: How will you try to prevent big-tiddy thotbot gfs? This is, sadly, a serious question.

  12. I don't think it's terribly hard to suspend your disbelief that the station isn't half-destroyed by a blob or swarmed by mutant spiders/fish every single day.

  14. While I rag on and generally dislike many sec mains for more reasons than I care to list, I can't say I agree with this. Is it shitty for sec to round up all the stuff in maint and shove it away? Yeah. It's pretty lame. I encourage them to overlook more stuff, maybe it'll spark some ridiculous RP down the line if a CT or Janitor finds it. Maybe not. Let someone carry around a boot knife for a round and enjoy it, even if it's never used. Is it affecting antags? Hardly. Most of this stuff is useless or accessible. It's just fun. Though when sec gets really picky and starts taking insulateds and empty combat belts it's kinda a crap move. Maint diving is fun. Finding junk is fun, whether it's a mask or a captain's backpack or a knife or a plushie. I don't think security should be excluded from that just because some of their players are joyless hoarders.
  15. We all know sec mains dive immediately in to scour for delicious boots and crayons. As well, I sort of agree. While I don't think it's malicious as "I don't want antags to get the upper hand on me at any cost," there are plenty of black/blue uniformed players who like to treat things the station as a no fun zone. Can't fault them for maint diving, though. It's fun. edit: nothing on that list is particularly dangerous aside from the knives.

  17. Frankly this just seems to be another reason research should start with good or maxed levels. The minigame is tedious, useless, and robotics can do nothing without it.
  18. A forum poll is, frankly, pretty pointless. It's pretty easy for anyone on either side to just get their friends to jump in and skew a vote. Green's been med. Green doesn't look bad. The sprites look great as green. The only bad thing here has been your attitude throughout this whole endeavor. You really need to relax more when it comes to people critiquing and asking for change when it comes to your work. Not even this thread, but discord and OOC in game... It's frankly childish; not your opinion itself, but how you're going about it, calling it "spitting on my work." Relax.

  20. Dying is a part of a round. When you ready up for secret, there's an acknowledgement that you understand that antagonists may exist, and have permission to kill people (with proper escalation, etc). Sometimes you are caught in that. Sometimes you'll never see an antag. Sometimes you stare at your screen in paincrit for fifteen minutes. I know this discussion about death and antagging has happened in one of your threads prior, so I won't repeat the many points in it. My only concern is balancing this carefully so that antags have some leeway in creating a unique round, instead of being shot once and downed. Otherwise I think making things more deadly is a terrific idea. Do I want to die? No. But I accept that it's a possibility and sometimes the odds don't favor me. It's a community RP effort and in one round my death might drive it. In another, someone else's death may drive RP for me. That's how we do it. But I don't want to be shot three times in the skull and live every time it happens. That's absurd.

  22. Pretty much everything BRAINOS said. I don't want antags to be afraid of killing me because constant bwoinks by people. As for the OP... Yeah. Wish it was easier. Wish medicine acted more slowly. Wish shrapnel and bullets did more damage. But I also empathize with the antag balance- It would kill a round to see a ninja, wizard, vamp, ling, etc (Basically everything except team antags or regular traitors) get downed quickly. It'd probably make people more shy to try those roles, because you already have the pressure of the round on your shoulders. So that's a big issue we would have to address for these changes. And I hope we can, as these changes are pretty sane and sensible.

    The topic is about deleting the "Current times" section, not the entire entity. Anyway yeah you can basically delete it or time everything between "Elyra today..." and "Domestically..." and it'll be way better.
