BYOND Key: NewOriginalSchwann Staff BYOND Key: IcedCabbage Game ID: b7q-ay6G Reason for complaint: Noted for "Firing lethals at someone because you mistook them for rubbers" Evidence/logs/etc: None to present. Additional remarks: I'm going to keep this brief and to the point, since I loathe waxing about nothing. My main issue here is that I was given a note I feel is unjust due to the circumstances leading up to it, and that I would like it to be removed from my record. I don't want this contributing to further judgement of my character, which is what really strikes me as the entire purpose behind the note system. The note itself was given for firing lethal energy carbine shots at somebody who I assumed was firing lethal rounds at me, when they were only firing rubbers. I explained to the trial moderator that I was unaware I was being shot at by rubbers and not extremely dangerous (for a M'sai) lethal ammunition, but he did not seem to understand that I was legitimately unaware during the course of the fight. The fight opened with a scientist point-blanking a security officer with his SMG around six times, which does not tell you what type of round is being fired - only that "Blah Blah fires the gun point-blank at the Forename Surname" while Forename Surname screams in pain. After this point-blanking I, assuming I was going to be shot to death after the officer was, shot back with the energy carbine's lethal mode. I then kicked the man once in the head while he was down, out of my character's frustration in being shot at. Following this I was bwoinked regarding a "paramedic and security officer that had stomped a man's head into crit," which is an oddly hostile way to start a conversation. After about a half hour of back-and-forth between myself and the trial moderator, I was informed that I was being noted "for reference." I did not, and still don't, really feel like this note is warranted, considering it was just a mistake, but was informed that it was for "recordkeeping." The ticket was closed shortly after this, and we went our separate ways. As I disagree with it I'd really like this note reexamined. What comes of this reexamination, we will see.

As loathe as I normally am to go "+1 epic roleplayer" in response to applications, as I believe it turns a whitelist into a popularity contest rather than a meritocratic one but I digress - I'm ranting. Despite having not interacted with you that much, reading over your application and your responses has been enough to convince me that you've got enough of an understanding of the skrell for a whitelist. This application has my support, and I look forward to watching your character push boxes with the worst best of NanoTrasen!

Hello! I'm a bit concerned by a few things here. 1). You want Travis Black to be your head of security, but he's currently a Zavodskoi contractor. Are you aware that only NanoTrasen personnel can be head of staff, and how do you plan to justify somebody switching from Zavodskoi to a fairly high-level NanoTrasen position? 2). Your answer to what's currently happening in Tau Ceti makes me think you aren't that experienced with the lore, and you haven't really answered the question despite writing a few lines. I need to see this expanded before I give you support. 3). You seem to be somewhat aggressive in OOC, particularly after rounds, and I'm concerned this will be a problem in a role as hectic as head of security. How do you plan to deal with this anger? I look forward to your responses!

New Leadership Dramatically Rebrands Necropolis Industries to Zavodskoi Interstellar! Earlier this afternoon (GST) Dr. Lydumila Zavodskoi announced that Necropolis Industries’ board of directors had voted unanimously to change its name from Necropolis Industries to Zavodskoi Interstellar. Necropolis’ board of directors - including Dr. Zavodskoi - have assured investors that the changes are “for the best of the company” and represent a new era where Zavodskoi will focus upon military manufacturing rather than the pursuit of genetics research. For now Necropolis stocks are holding steady, compared to the brief drop experienced after the naming of Dr. Zavodskoi as its new CEO. In response to this dramatic and sudden decision, Dr. Zavodskoi has opted to hold another press conference at the headquarters of the company in Tolyatti. We now go live to our reporter in Tolyatti. LYDUMILA ZAVODSKOI stands behind a podium in the Tolyatti headquarter’s conference center. On the podium itself is the symbol of the new Zavodskoi Interstellar - still in red-and-black, as per the old emblem. REPORTER: Investors are concerned by the recent shifts in the board of directors. Could you go into more depth about what happened? ZAVODSKOI: Of course. Mister Meirran and Doctor Volvalaad have unfortunately decided to depart our employment due to disagreements with our new executive direction. Mister Meirran has been replaced by Marquess Volvalaad as our chief security officer, and Doctor Volvalaad has been replaced by Doctor Klavan as our chief research officer, and we are very much glad to have them on the Board. Our new members of the Board are very open-minded and loyal employees, qualities which are very valued here. REPORTER: Why did you proceed with the rebranding when two board members decided to quit over it? ZAVODSKOI: Ultimately, the benefits of our new direction will far outweigh the losses of any individual board member. Myself - and my colleagues - have absolute confidence in this. REPORTER: What was the reason behind the rebranding, ultimately? ZAVODSKOI: A new start was needed. Genetics research was a black hole of funds, and as such we will be moving away from our focus on it to concentrate on what we do best: military equipment. Besides that, it was also a way to detach ourselves from the reputation and opinions that have been garnered of the corporation under its previous leadership. REPORTER: Will there be any immediate changes in your workforce? ZAVODSKOI: Yes, there will be. We plan to bring positronics into some areas that they were not previously used in, such as the Republic of Biesel. I assure our Dominian investors that we will honor our contract to not bring synthetics to Imperial space, or allow synthetics in any managerial positions. The press conference ended shortly after this, and the full transcript can be found at [SYSTEM ERROR - INVALID LINK!]. Shortly after the conference’s conclusion, Zavodskoi Interstellar stocks rose slightly.

Lydumila Zavodskoi Named New CEO of Necropolis Early this morning (GST) Dr. Lydumila Zavodskoi was formally elected the new chief executive officer of Necropolis Industries by its board of directors. Her formal ascension to the position comes as something of a surprise for outside observers, which expected chief security officer Gerharde Meirran - a close ally of Mister Boytsov - to ascend to the position of interim CEO while Mister Boytsov recovered. Medical reports from Earth, however, suggest that Mister Boytsov’s condition is far worse than originally anticipated, and many independent observers doubt that he will be able to fulfill the duties of CEO after recovery. To prevent further damage to Necropolis stocks, Dr. Zavodskoi has opted to hold an emergency press conference in St. Petersburg. We go to our reporter on-scene now. LYDUMILLA ZAVODSKOI stands at the same podium she had before, outside of the Necropolis Industries offices in St. Petersburg. ZAVODSKOI: With the discussion of my election as CEO concluded, the floor is open for questions. JOURNALIST: What about rumors that two of your board members - your chief security and chief research officers - have resigned? Can you comment on that? ZAVODSKOI: Mister Meirran and Doctor Volvalaad were close friends of Mister Boytsov. They are welcome to take time away from the company if they need to. We have plenty of qualified personnel that can fill their shoes. JOURNALIST: Who are some of these qualified personnel, then? ZAVODSKOI: If Mister Meirran and Doctor Volvalaad depart, Marquess Volvalaad will be stepping up as our chief security officer. Doctor Klavan has expressed her own interest in becoming our new chief research officer. However, no members of the board have submitted formal resignations as of yet. JOURNALIST: Investors are concerned regarding the sudden change in leadership. Do you have anything to reassure them? ZAVODSKOI: Only that I am the continuation of centuries of success for Necropolis Industries. I know how this corporation became great, and I can bring it more success. The press conference ended shortly after this, when Doctor Zavodskoi reentered the office building to discuss further matters with the board of directors. And now, we return to sports.

Option three is excellent, as is option two. It'd be great to see more customization! It's a fantastic way for players to express themselves, particularly with the ability to rename items and change their descriptions.

Reporting Personnel: Thi Mai Linh Job Title of Reporting Personnel: Security Officer (Idris Incorporated) Game ID: b6M-ccsM Personnel Involved: (Name, Job Title: Offender/Witness/Other. Only three witnesses other than yourself permitted, the rest go to secondary witnesses. Victims count as witnesses) - Tarqi Xinaltu, Scientist, Offender - IRU-Sentiment, Forensic Technician (Idris Incorporated), Witness - Jane Kanvers, Detective (Idris Incorporated), Witness Secondary Witnesses: (Name, Job Title: Short description of what they witnessed) - Gregory Cashman, Corporate Liaison (Idris Incorporated): Present for the shuttle exchange. - ISU-Booker, Security Officer (Idris Incorporated): Present for the security lobby exchange. Time of Incident: N/A, off-duty on the NTCC Odin immediately after shift Real Time: 1600GMT 21/04/20 Location of Incident: NSS Aurora-NTCC Odin transfer shuttle Nature of Incident: [X] - Workplace Hazard [ ] - Accident/Injury [ ] - Destruction of Property [ ] - Neglect of Duty [X] - Harassment [X] - Assault [X] - Misconduct [X] - Other: Improper use of psionics Overview of the Incident: First, allow me to thank the NanoTrasen corporation for employing Idris Incorporated security and service personnel. We appreciate your patronage. Now, the incident report. I initially got into a brief verbal disagreement with Doctor Xinaltu over my inability to pronounce her name. I will admit that this is a personal flaw of myself, due to growing up on New Hai Phong. I am not, it would seem, very experienced with pronouncing names such as "Xinaltu." Doctor Xinaltu took great offense to this, calling me an idiot and/or retard in several different manners in a time-span of only a few minutes. This is inappropriate behavior, but I have unfortunately been called far worse on this station. Doctor Xinaltu then threatened to "show me how to really pronounce my [her] name," by probing my mind before storming off with a Guwan in tow. The second part of this incident took place on the shuttle, where Doctor Xinaltu took it upon herself to invade my mind with the proper pronunciation of her name. The immediate impact of this was that my eyes felt like they were about to explode, my nose began to bleed, and I almost vomited due to the sensation. Unfortunately for me, the worse was yet to come. Upon failing to fine the skrell due to the shift ending, I quickly developed a massive migraine as a result of having my brain intruded upon and needed to be helped to a nearby clinic by Agent Kanvers. I spent the next eight to twelve hours (I'm not sure how long, due to the constant pain making things blurry) in the clinic with the worst migraine I have ever had in my life. Agent Kanvers later informed me that this is "pretty typical" for Doctor Xinaltu. This this unacceptable behavior for staff, and would have resulted in a fine or brig time had we not been unable to detain her. Submitted Evidence: I have no evidence other than the fact that I entered the Odin's clinic with a horrific migraine and bleeding nose, where I had to stay for several hours. Did you report it to a Head of Staff or a superior? If so, who? If not, why?: No heads of staff were on-shift aside from a corporate liaison. Actions taken: Attempted to detain offender upon the charge of minor assault, unable to do so due to shift ending. Additional Notes: N/A

Human Lore Deputy appleicaticon
NewOriginalSchwann replied to Scheveningen's topic in Developer Applications Archives
Hello, and thank you for applying! My apologies for not getting back to you sooner, I found myself unexpectedly busy last night. I just have a few questions! I'm a bit curious about your desire to make the Scarabs "relatively antagonistic." Could you expand upon that? What do you plan to do with the Coalition? You have a distaste for the sandbox aspect of it, but don't seem to offer anything to fix that. How much freedom would players have in your take on the Coalition? How would you make Elyra less of a punching bag? -
Hello, and thank you for applying! I just have a few quick, general questions due to Borya beating me to the punch. What is your plan for working together as part of a greater team? There's a lot of overlap in human lore with other groups, and the overlap isn't always in agreement. I'd like to see how you intent to handle this cross-area cooperation. How do you intend to manage bloat as a lore developer? Namely, how will you determine what does and does not need to be included in the final draft of something? What are some areas of bloat that we, as lore developers, could trim down?

Boggle08's Human Lore Deputy App
NewOriginalSchwann replied to Boggle08's topic in Developer Applications Archives
Hello, and thank you for taking the time to apply! I just have one question for you, since Borya touched on a lot of my points. Could you expand upon this? It's a pretty fascinating part of your application for me, and I'd love to see further connections between the human and IPC lore teams. -
[+1 DISMISSAL] Remove the detective's sidearm entirely
NewOriginalSchwann replied to kyres1's topic in Archive
Compact .45: Seven shot magazine+one extra magazine=14 .45 rounds .38 Revolver: Six shot cylinder+two extra cylinders=18 .38 rounds To reload my compact .45 I have to press Z and insert a new magazine. I can always eject my magazine to see how many bullets it has, and if I need more bullets my gun is compatible with the rest of security's ammunition. To reload my .38 revolver I have to press Z to eject all my .38 rounds, insert my new autoloader, and then shoot. I cannot check to see how many live bullets are left in my cylinder without ejecting every single bullet. If, god forbid, I run out of .38 rounds I need to find a hacked autolathe to get more rounds. I have seen the lethal rounds of the detective's .45 abused a myriad of times, and can testify that they absolutely stomp the shit of antagonists in with their ability to cause arterial bleeding, shrapnel, and bone fractures on code green. There is no reason for the detective to have lethal round when they're so powerful. They're just a fifth officer at this rate, and one that escalates from a flash to round-ending .45 rounds at the drop of a hat. -
[Accepted] Peppermint's IPC Application
NewOriginalSchwann replied to Peppermint's topic in Whitelist Applications Archives
As for as positronic backstories go, I really enjoy this one - it shows how IPCs are an oppressed group in lore while having their own desires, shows a fairly atypical background for an IPC (most seem to be involved in an industrial or security setting, judging by recent backstories), and the answers given demonstrate an understanding of IPC lore. Combined with your answers to Stryker's questions (I also screwed up the timeline at first, don't worry), I have seen all I need to support this application. Good luck with the rest of the process, and I hope to see Mable alongside the rest of the Aurora's shells soon enough! -
Remove changelings experiencing pain/paralysis/stuns in general
NewOriginalSchwann replied to kyres1's topic in Archive
This is a very good point. Fire is one of the primary weakness of the titular "thing/thing from out of this world" from The Thing, and it's something that's not really easily accessible for the station's crew unless they go looking for it. -
HSF Titáv and NSS Aurora Assaulted by Pirates! A photo of the engagement captured by a member of the NSS Aurora's crew Earlier today Republic of Biesel and Hephaestus Industries authorities reported that the HSF Titáv and NSS Aurora were both attacked by tajaran pirates earlier this weekend. NanoTrasen authorities have confirmed several crew injuries, though names have not been released yet. Security officials with both Hephaestus and NanoTrasen have confirmed the death of several boarders during engagements with the Titáv’s and Aurora’s security wing. Boarders initially assaulted the Titáv as it began to pass through the Romanovich Cloud, managing to hijack one of its cargo shuttles despite efforts made by the security forces of the Titáv. The shuttle, slightly damaged due to fighting that had taken place in its shuttlebay, rapidly lost control and crashed into the NSS Aurora’s asteroid - inflicting severe damage onto the station’s central ring. NanoTrasen authorities have refused to reveal much detail regarding what had ensued aboard the NSS Aurora, however it is known that a skirmish between three different factions of boarders took place. Following a gunfight between several tajara, the Titáv’s shuttle was relaunched by an unknown party. The shuttle itself was rediscovered by a Tau Ceti Foreign Legion patrol vessel patrolling the Romanovich Cloud several hours later, but was empty of its crew and cargo. A Republic of Biesel official stated that pirates and smugglers were likely to blame, a stance supported by NanoTrasen officials interviewed by the Bugle. In response to the suspicions about the boarders’ allegiances, all three governments of Adhomai have disputed the accusations and claimed the boarders to be simple bandits. The People’s Republic of Adhomai has stated that it will be stepping up its anti-piracy patrols in the region, and has stated its willingness to cooperate with Republic of Biesel and NanoTrasen authorities alike. The New Kingdom of Adhomai’s diplomat in residence for the Republic of Biesel has stated that he is “saddened by how the people’s frustration and economic downturn following the [Second Tajaran Civil] War has caused piracy to be a tragically common lifestyle for this one’s people.” In other news, the Mendell City Police Department’s commissioner for district six has reported a spike in March’s crime rate compared to last month (continued on page 6)...

Remove changelings experiencing pain/paralysis/stuns in general
NewOriginalSchwann replied to kyres1's topic in Archive
Yeah, they need pain immunity. As it stands a changeling really has no way to escape from security once the stun baton comes out, making it one of the weakest on-station antagonists. -
As per my in-character promise, I am now here. Over several rounds I have both observed and played in - both as command staff and regular staff - Shen has proven herself time and time again to be an effective and engaging head of personnel. It's fascinating to see a head of personnel that has come up from the ranks of cargo in a fairly organic manner. I hope to see Samsara as a head of personnel for months to come, and fully believe that Shen has what is needed to pass her trial with flying colors. +1

Station Facelift: Feedback thread
NewOriginalSchwann replied to ferner's topic in Completed Projects
Our current floor sprites are horrifically dated, and this is a vast improvement. This has my full support. -
Hello, supporter of BRAINOS’ sprite here. I stopped objecting to Wezzy’s replacement due to assuming that a version taking in the community’s feedback was being worked on, either by Wezzy or BRAINOS. Since one is, seemingly, not being worked on, I support a full revert to the BRAINOS sprite. The support is there, if we take this thread as evidence.

WickedCyb's Applies for Tajara
NewOriginalSchwann replied to WickedCybs's topic in Whitelist Applications Archives
Cybsthe is somebody I know can provide quality RP in roles they play, and I find their take on a tajara to be very interesting. Any questions I would have asked have already been answered, and this application has my definitive support. +1 -
I agree with this. Having been there for the head of staff antagonist round Cybs is referring to, I can safely say it was one of the least fun rounds I have ever had: anything and everything that could be used to fight against the combination of an antagonist RD, two antagonist security officers, and two ninjas was rapidly shut down by the hellish array of antagonist armed with the most frightening equipment science could produce and supported by two ninjas. Any coordination done over the radio was shut down by the RD, our PDAs were cut off, security was either imprisoned or murdered, ERT was unavailable, and even an emergency shuttle call seemed to be out of our reach. My other experiences with antagonist heads of staff have been equally unpleasant, ranging from being called into their office for "a discussion of your projects" then walking out with half of my blood missing, watching a RD vampire turn their entire department into a coven, and seeing a traitor CMO implant people in surgery with explosives for reasons beyond the pale. Perhaps the worst part of head of staff antagonists is that they absolutely ruin a department's coordination unless a robusto steps up to the plate and puts their foot down to coordinate a department while lacking authority, command channel access, and access. I'd rather lose the possibility of good on-station head of staff antagonist gimmicks than have to suffer through another round like the one Cybs and I experienced. You can't really coordinate a department and teach its new players while also playing a traitor.
